@lovetocook12345 How the hell does any part of this video equate to "Trump to sue CNN for over 1 billion $$$$". Good video, bad faith post?

Canonical keeps making decisions like they’re building a corporate ecosystem instead of a Linux distro. Ubuntu became popular because it made Linux simple without taking freedom away from users. Now everything feels forced: - Firefox through Snap - Snap everywhere - Ubuntu Pro ads This is not the Ubuntu we loved anymore. It was never just about Snaps. It’s about trust. Many Linux users left Windows/macOS to escape this kind of ecosystem control. Fedora honestly feels closer to the old Ubuntu spirit now. Might finally be time to switch to fedora

Rust is a cult. And this statement from the Linux Kernel maintainer is yet another example of Rust Cultism. "Rust is going to save us!" Save us... from what? That's never actually defined. The implication is that our core "goodness" depends on using Rust. On replacing unclean C code with Rust. In other words: Rust zealots are proclaiming that blind acceptance of "Rust" will save our souls. It's a cult. A very, very weird cult.

@GigaBasedDad The only word out of my mouth would be "Ok, I'll make that happen" and then drive her home in silence. It's her job to square away yourself. It aint my job. She got a mirror in the car, she probably got a mirror in her purse.

Centennial High School graduation in Franklin, Tennessee was held outdoors despite heavy rain and lightning Weather is known in advance so the caroming could have been moved indoors but school officials had a “Rain or Shine” Policy so the Pre-Set Plans had to move ahead They knew the rain was coming but thought they could get the ceremony done before the rain and didn’t want to move the ceremony into the gym. From what I could find they didn’t know if everyone would fit They even had a backup plan incase it rained Staff indicated that if it rained on Thursday, they’d try again Friday and go indoors if needed then. They stuck with the original Thursday plan rather than moving it to Friday Many parents and attendees were extremely frustrated, calling it unsafe due to the lightning strikes. They were disappointing because it was such a milestone

“They Stood The Watch” This Memorial Weekend I’m sharing a song I wrote called “They Stood The Watch.” It’s a full 6 minutes long. I know that’s longer than most things people listen to these days, but if you have a few quiet minutes, I’d be honored if you gave it the whole listen. This one is for the 13 Americans who gave their lives at Abbey Gate in Kabul on August 26, 2021 and for the 45 who were wounded that day and still carry those scars. They didn’t run. They didn’t hide. They faced the fire with eyes open wide. And even now… they still stand the watch. Sat on this one for a long time actually, long angry one. I took the anger out of it. The video is a collage of AI-generated images I created so there are no copyright issues. I didn’t want to just use one still photo I wanted something that moved with the song. Never forgotten. Semper Fi. If there is a foundation in their honor and they want this song, just let me know, they can have it use it however they please.

So a company like Raytheon puts a design package together and has China freaking make it. 🤣 I bet my freaking farm that is not the case. Companies like this design and develop widgets that our government barely knows about or even understands, let alone sends to China to be reverse-engineered and manufactured.. in my humble experience anyway

.@PalmerLuckey: American companies don't actually have engineers anymore. "American companies have been hollowed out." "We're not teaching engineers how to be engineers anymore." "We're not teaching designers how to actually design things to be manufactured." "We're teaching them how to be high-level design shops that put together a design package, that gets sent to the real engineers in China—and they actually figure out how to do the work." "People are turning into architecture astronauts." "They pick components, and they put them in a nominal layout." "But the real work of—how am I actually going to put this together? How am I going to build a manufacturing line to make this? How am I going to need to figure out how to do the one, two, three, four, five different revisions of this board to pass radio emissions and interference standards? That's all done in China. So they are the real engineers." Via @HooverInst

Mat Best - Folded Flag (Official Music Video) This song was written for the men and women who stepped into the fire for this country and never made it home, and for the families, friends, and brothers left carrying their memory forward. Memorial Day isn’t just a long weekend. Behind every folded flag is a name, a story, and a sacrifice that built the freedom we live in every day. This song proudly supports the Major Brent Taylor Foundation and the Gold Star families it supports.

LEAKED AUDIO FROM META ALL-HANDS AHEAD OF LAYOFFS TOMORROW Mark Zuckerberg, in his own words, told Meta employees their devices are being tracked to train AI models. His reasoning? Meta employees are smarter than the contract workers the rest of the industry uses for data labeling. So instead of hiring outside help, Meta is turning its own workforce into training data. "The average intelligence of the people who are at this company is significantly higher than the average set of people that you can get to do tasks if you're working through these contractors." He wants the AI to learn how "really smart people use computers" by watching employees work. He says the content is "stripped out" and none of it is used for surveillance or performance tracking. Then he admitted the rollout was botched but said Meta intentionally kept employees in the dark because leaking competitive AI strategy would help rivals. "It is not strategically in your interest for us to communicate everything in all the detail that we normally would on this." Translation: We're watching you, we told you as little as possible, and we did it on purpose. AI is replacing the contractor. Then the employee trains the AI. Then the AI replaces the employee. This story and this company keeps getting weirder.
More Perfect Union@MorePerfectUS

LEAKED AUDIO: In an all-hands meeting on April 30, Mark Zuckerberg tells employees that he's training AI on them ahead of mass layoffs. "The AI models learn from watching really smart people do things... The average intelligence of the people who are at this company is significantly higher than the average set of people that you can get to do tasks. So if we're trying to teach the models coding, for example, then having people internally build tools or solve tasks that help teach the model how to code, we think is going to dramatically increase our model's coding ability faster than what others in the industry have the capability to do, who don't have thousands and thousands of extremely strong engineers at their company."

Being Christlike is not really about religion. It’s a description of character: Humility. Mercy. Compassion. Self-control. Truth without hatred. Maybe before claiming to speak for God… we should ask whether we reflect the character we claim to defend. Next: hypocrisy.
