This is unacceptable. The suspect was already on probation and back on the street within hours. We’ve invested in more police officers, but that means nothing if violent offenders are released almost immediately after arrest. It’s time for senior levels of government to step up with meaningful bail reform to keep these repeat offenders off our streets. Vancouverites deserve to feel safe. I’m shocked to read the public opposition to this application. One of the top issues I heard on the doorstep last fall was the need for more childcare. Council has set direction to prioritize more spaces; this isn’t in line with that direction so clearly more work to do. #vanpoli
