Have to say, this has been an incredibly uninspiring debate about their calendar and process. This is an incredibly defensive (or comfortable) list of states they are choosing from, sans SC. If a political party wants to grow, it ought to have more of its early tests in lean red/reach states, like KS, IA or NE in the Midwest. It ought to pick more geographically diverse states in the west (think AZ or OR) rather than NV (basically a one endorsement campaign, culinary union). And maybe NC, MS and TN in the South. These early states get GOBS of money and attention and it can lead to INCREDIBLE party building efforts in the states. Instead, this calendar is being created simply to appease specific interest groups within the party which hasn’t served them well this last decade.
