@JazzinHockeyGrl @JanetCa03023777 @gator_gum Well when it is your life in question you can claim first hand experience. Many that have spoken against is because it directly affects their life.
English

@JanetCa03023777 @gator_gum Same.
Those of us that have witnessed it can attest to its importance.
People that have no experience with it need to stfu.
English

I'd like to ask those people that have been recently posting "horror stories" of MAiD situations and other related political statements if they would like to see it absolutely and entirely removed.
Meaning, that they genuinely feel the best solution is that nobody, under any circumstances should be allowed to decided to end their own life, with no exceptions...
This is an honest and genuine question. I'm curious as this seems to be coming up a lot lately.
English

@JanetCa03023777 @gator_gum And yet you ignore those with first hand experience that have faced coercion and feel pressured. Experienced by many in the disability community. Once money becomes involved (cheaper to end a life than provide supports) it becomes risky.
English

@gator_gum How about just asking the people who have actually been through it with a loved one? I'm sick and fucking tired of the shit that's being spewed and where are the receipts? How many of these clowns have first-hand knowledge, rather than the Anti-MAID echo chamber!
English

@gator_gum I think most people would agree with it under strict conditions, for those truly suffering, terminal, with safeguards that would prevent coercion. Problem is that once that was in place expanding it to others was predictable.
English

@mikethenavyguy You obviously haven't heard about, or are ignoring the fact that Track 2 MAID exists. It allows for people w/disabilities who are not dying at all. They struggle with poverty/lack of support/services and are often offered MAID as a solution.
English

@merry123459 If only that were true there wouldn’t be such pushback. They expanded it for people with disabilities who aren’t dying. Want to extend it to people with mental health issues and also extend to mature minors. Not many would object to those you describe
English

MAID is reserved for terminally ill patients who face certain death. Painful, agonizing death without dignity. If the patient chooses, with approval from physicians they can arrange their own time of death so they don’t have to suffer to the end. This guy is a lying sack of 💩.
Harrison Krank@HarrisonKrank
There have been more people killed by the Canadian government assisted su1cide program this year than the totality of every American mass shooting in America's history (It's only February)
English

@marlene4719 You are ignoring Track 2. It allows for people with disabilities to choose MAID despite not being anywhere close to death. Suffering due to poverty, lack of supports or services is enough.
English

For all the dumbass maga in the back:
MAID is a voluntary, regulated medical procedure with very strict eligibility rules.
It applies to those over 18 and who are mentally competent.
It’s an option when you have a grievous and incurable medical condition that is causing intolerable suffering and pain.
English

@mapleblooded The loans are being guaranteed by seized Russian assets not by your family.

In a covertly recorded conversation, the CDC's Dr. William Thompson openly admits that the CDC lied and covered up the fact that the MMR vaccine was associated with autism.
"Thimerosal causes autism-like features... I'm completely ashamed of what I did. The higher-ups wanted to do certain things and I went along with it."
"I cannot believe we did what we did. But we did."

@AlyMichael10 @myabradshaw78 Human caused fires aren't always arson. They can cause them accidentally by being careless.
English

@myabradshaw78 Exactly! Arrest the arsonists, not the hikers and dog walkers.
English

@strategywoman I am always watching for your posts and relieved to see you still online.

@conservbrownman @brianlilley Norway uses EVs and they don’t seem to have an issue with them working in the cold.
English

@brianlilley EV cars in brutally cold Canadian winters is a horrible idea. I can't believe politicians are seriously considering an EV mandate.
English

If you’ve driven these roads, you know a gas station is hard to come by, never mind an EV charging station.
Andrew Scheer@AndrewScheer
What do a caveman, Napoleon, and you in 2035 all have in common? Not owning a car. This is going to be a long one. So grab a drink and settle in because you won’t believe what Mark Carney is doing.
English

@nimmity_anna @brianlilley I live in small town rural SK. We have charging stations. Likely more small towns have them than you realize.
English

@brianlilley Brian they don’t want people driving down those roads
They don’t want people living rural, they want them all in the cities.
English

@RositaStellar @retail_recruit They didn’t have a mental illness, she said mental disability which is different. Also said he didn’t understand what was happening. Doesn’t qualify under the rules you quoted.
English

@retail_recruit No, Canada has not approved Medical Assistance in Dying (MAID) for individuals whose sole underlying condition is a mental illness

Just minutes ago at #COSP18: Our own @KristaCarrNB took the floor at the UN General Assembly and delivered an incredibly powerful message. 🎤
She spoke directly to *all* countries, including Canada's delegation.
This wasn't just a speech; it was a stand.
For too long, Canada has heard the UN's directives: ➡️ Repeal MAiD Track 2
➡️ Close institutions
➡️ End segregation in ALL its forms
➡️ Deliver a REAL disability benefit
These are not suggestions. They are human rights obligations.
Krista's message was clear & unwavering: Ableism rebrands, but our resolve only strengthens. Every broken promise, every new label for old exclusion, fuels our fight.
To families in Canada: We see you. Your fight matters. To governments: We see through the new labels. Rights are NOT negotiable.
"We have courage. We have the Convention. We have each other. And we are NOT going anywhere."
- Krista Carr
The world heard. Now Canada must act.

@myabradshaw78 Normally no. But the whole purpose of this trip is to send a message to Trump. I am in favour of that.
English

Does anyone actually care that these 2 are coming to Canada? I know I don’t. All I see is another bill taxpayers have to pay.

Good grief. Why is SK always so far behind the times? @PremierScottMoe please learn what inclusion means and start developing policy/funding that actually supports it.
Kurt Goddard@kurtgoddard
1/ Saskatchewan just put $9.7 M into 10 new group homes and calls it “inclusion.” It is anything but.
