Officially a Durham University Graduate! 🎓 A beautiful Winter Graduation day at the Cathedral, celebrated with family. Today was a day of two degrees: a positive one (+), because this is my second one 📜, and a negative one (-), because it was minus two degrees celsius! 🥶
A wintry 13-mile run takes my total running mileage for 2024 to just over 1000. I am incredibly proud of this. When my husband died nearly 3 years ago, I thought I’d never be able to run again. But this year, I’ve done a 95-mile race, a 165-mile FKT, and found consistency again.
What does good spiritual leadership look like? It does not whip up anger, pit people against one another or seek its own advantage. It upholds justice, models restraint and charity in its own interactions and raises others up to be their better selves 🙏
@alexdjfrost@churchofengland Yep tried this one year, stood at the door and somebody entering church asked ‘why are you dressed as a pumpkin?’ That costumed hasn’t reappeared since 🤣🎃🍊

Morning everyone I hope you are well. Early mist clearing across Keswick and Derwentwater with the splendid cascade of 13,000 hand made poppies pouring from the church as we remembered. Have a great day.

@fellranger1 Any ideas when it will be broadcast? I’m the new fell running rector of Grasmere & have listened to all your other podcasts from the village to help me get to know a bit more about the place.
Trip to Grasmere this afternoon, the birthplace of fellrunning, and a podcast conversation charting the emergence of the sport with its cultural historian Peter Todhunter.
Our children will be attending the national service of remembrance in London on Sunday morning, therefore we will assemble at our war memorial in Broadgate Meadow today at 3 pm for a short service of remembrance, accompanied by Rev. Lawrence Basham and members of our brass band.
