A wintry 13-mile run takes my total running mileage for 2024 to just over 1000. I am incredibly proud of this. When my husband died nearly 3 years ago, I thought I’d never be able to run again. But this year, I’ve done a 95-mile race, a 165-mile FKT, and found consistency again.

Trip to Grasmere this afternoon, the birthplace of fellrunning, and a podcast conversation charting the emergence of the sport with its cultural historian Peter Todhunter.

Our children will be attending the national service of remembrance in London on Sunday morning, therefore we will assemble at our war memorial in Broadgate Meadow today at 3 pm for a short service of remembrance, accompanied by Rev. Lawrence Basham and members of our brass band.
