And now these people want to claim that they're deeply committed to "free expression". No they are not. What Oxford Union is committed to is platforming Leftist voices under the guise of standing up for free speech. But the moment that speaker is considered on the "Far Right", these people will go out of their way to placate Leftist agitators who demand that their enemies be silenced. And now, those same Leftists will invoke principles they have no respect for and expect the very people they're trying to ban to leap to their defense.

You do not understand these people. They have no guilt. The morally good thing to do in their culture is to lie, save face, preserve izzat. Hitler tolerated Röhm to an extent but probably wouldn’t have been able to justify keeping him around if anyone found out just how perverted he was. So it makes sense that Röhm would have wanted those files destroyed ASAP and found a way to get it done with a significant amount of plausible deniability. And that’s all before we get to the fact that the Nazis appointed one of Hirschfeld’s gender surgeons to a chief medical position and that he continued his “research” in that role. And then the fact that there are academic journals referring to a case study of a man in Nazi Germany who was allowed to not only transition to “female” but go to a Muttershule and adopt a baby. So yeah. All very inconvenient for the two groups who care about this. The troons don’t like this because they don’t want to believe the Nazis were sympathetic to them, so they’d rather construct a victim narrative. And the LARPers who fetishize Nazism don’t like this because they’d rather believe their (an) heroes hated troonery. And the two just endlessly validate each other. Is invited to play with kids in Japan on behalf of Germany's Foreign Office despite being a convicted pedophile. Gets arrested for even more child porn.

Democrats, or rather the left, gave up far too much ground by not making jokes about things that very obviously should have been joked about. This entire luggage stealing scenario was rife for a South Park caricature or an SNL skit or a Daily Show reference or a Colbert opening monologue, yet it by and large went ignored by comedy shows (I don’t even think Last Week Tonight referenced it) and that only served to give territory to the right. Over ten or twelve years ago this dude’s luggage theft would have been the absolute butt of so much late night media, South Park would have rekt him, but it didn’t happen here, and we all know why, which only did a disservice to everybody, be they left or right. The hyper partisanship of late night comedy needs to end. Accept that some people are worth mocking, regardless of their identity and views. This guy isn’t the final boss of The LGBT, he doesn’t represent the entirety of the LGBT, he can and should be mocked for his actions. And by protecting him the leftwing media only shot themselves (and those they’re trying to “protect”) in the foot. So much more power could be regained if the left learned to laugh at themselves again. They used to do it!
