I know how a lot of young adults are feeling right now. Like the dream of home ownership may be out of your grasp, or that you and your partner may not be able to afford kids. I’m not going to tell you what the boomers told us. The truth is life is unfair. Life is hard. People only give a shit about themselves. Nobody is coming to save you. The good old days of having a wife, 2-3 kids, a house, 2 cars, and a good family vacation every year on a $42,000 salary are over. It’s never coming back. So don’t make that the metric. Comparison is the thief of joy as they say. Figure out what the abundance is you need and figure out a way to game the system in your favor. Passive income streams. Fruitful partnerships with like minded people. Smart investments. Expanding your practical skill sets. Taking care of your body. Being independent and able to do a lot of your own repairs. Find a hobby you love that never feels like work and find a way to make that your job. That’s what I did. I created my job. All this social media “influencer” BS didn’t exist when I started doing all this 17 years ago. That’s just what the bean counters call it not that they have figured out how to make a buck on it all. You’re going to have to take some risks. You’re going to have to step outside your comfort zone. But you will succeed and have everything you want in life. I’m not going to tell you it’s going to be easy. I’m not going to give you the “pull yourself up by the bootstraps” talk because that’s not enough now. That’s a giant cope. You will literally have to carve out your own Mt. Rushmore with your own face on it. Because this system is royally fucked up and if you’re counting on a solution from any of these people don’t hold your breath. They are the architects of the problems in the first place. Good luck.
