European governments are losing out on €4 million an hour in revenue by not taxing its aviation sector properly. Closing this ‘tax gap’ needs to be a priority for governments by implementing a fuel tax, VAT on tickets or extending the carbon market.

It's years now that @EUauditors warns implementation isn't happening as it should With the upcoming revision of key #EU #energy & #climate framework in the Fall, it's time these recommendations become more binding Headlines and targets are great, implementation is better

👏👏👏 Countries with most power over change levers have a historic opportunity to act for transformative solutions ➡️Align clean transition interest to that of a global & fair transition instead of being limited to narrow interest calculus + internal governance structures

Green transition = biggest opportunity for prosperity, jobs. But many countries/communities feel excluded, especially given economic nationalism of biggest nations/blocs. More of the same: "green" just for those that can fund it. One commodity trap to another? Let's fix this!

YES Please ‼️ Biggest hurdle in my view - Beating the mindset of these same 'advanced economies' that it's development aid, when it's actually in their direct strategic interest - geopolitical, security and economic - to build clean economy type of partnerships
