Today we celebrate the first anniversary of the election to the Papacy of our President Pope Leo XIV. With gratitude for his compassionate & faithful service, we give thanks for a year of walking together in the spirit of synodality, listening, discerning, & journeying ahead.

One year ago today, the College of Cardinals elected Cardinal Robert Prevost as the 267th Successor of Peter. Taking the name Leo XIV, he became the first U.S.-born pope in the history of the Church. We give thanks for his ministry and continue to pray for our Holy Father.

One year ago today, Cardinal Robert Francis Prevost placed his hand upon the Holy Gospels and took the solemn Oath of Secrecy as the Conclave began. That Conclave would soon elect him as the 267th Successor of Peter: Pope Leo XIV.

Sister Francis Dominici Piscatella, a Dominican sister in Amityville, NY, celebrated her 113th birthday on April 20. She is now the oldest nun in the world. Born in 1913 to Italian immigrants, Sister Francis has been a religious sister for 95 years. She spent over 50 years in education in the dioceses of Brooklyn, New York, and Rockville Center.
