On the subbing question:
Siena had seven scholarship players available. The two off the bench were both freshmen who shoot 35% or worse from the field.
A 90-second breather wouldn't have magically made anyone on Siena any less tired down the stretch. G-Mac played it right.

@LearnBallBuddy @CBB_Central The goal is to have a legit shot at the end. Those starters were running on fumes, ALL OF THEM. If you had one or two with some gas, this game likely ends differently.

@Canedude08 @CBB_Central 2 guys on the bench who had played in any capacity this season. Both freshman. One is 5’11. You play them 5 minutes a piece, does that really make a meaningful difference in rest for the starters? Who’s to say either one would be more impactful than a tired starter?

@bigcontentguy Good luck stringing 3 hits together against the back end of the bullpen where every guy throws 98 with a wipeout secondary. There’s a reason win % is 75+% when outhomering your opponent

the last two games is a perfect example of the problem with emphasizing launch angle and exit velocity. it wins you a lot of games but kills you in close games that matter where you need base runners and established offense

david mirkovic has some real juice as a closeout attacker with an unusual body type for someone as comfortable with the ball as him, and he's making 37.1% of his 8.6 3pa/100
needs tons of work on defense and he isn't a creator, but there's a long-term NBA stretch big to find

2022 - 4 seed, lost to 5 seed Houston who was 31-5 & made the E8
2023 - 9 seed, lost to 8 seed Arkansas who upset 1 seed Kansas in 2nd rd
2024 - E8 run before losing to wagon UConn
2025 - 6 seed, lost to 3 seed UK
