I love the German word “Heimat” - it translates into English as “home” and yet its meaning runs so much deeper. It evokes all the sights, sounds, smells, tastes and sensations associated with the place you consider to be home. 🏠

@ML_KinrossHS Hear, hear! Plus learning German grammar makes you so much more aware of how languages work. That task used to be fulfilled by Latin (nominative, accusative, dative, etc.), but with fewer schools teaching Latin these days, learning German offers similar benefits :-)
