My oldest son was like this his senior year in high school. He had 21 absenses. His teachers asked what my wife and I how we wanted to handle this. There were options to fix the issue. I said "Fail him." Suddenly, he started caring about homework, getting to class on time, and graduating. No surprise he didn't last more than a semester in college, but that it out of my hands at that point.

I have a senior on my roster who hasn’t attended my class a single day this semester. She showed up today for the first time. We have 7 days left before grades are finalized for seniors. My administrator just asked me to see what I can do to help her graduate. In case anyone here is a new follower, this is why I’m leaving public education.

I keep hearing about agents and automation. I dont have a problem I need to solve using agents, and 90% of the automation "hacks" out there are just variations on themes that have existed for 20 years. See CoPilot. When I need to learn what agents are and how to deploy them, I'll learn to make them.

@LearningBill Agreed. Find the problem, use the AI tools. Not learning about all the new AI toys and then figure out how to use them.

I feel I cannot catch up with AI. I'm trying my best but after work, chores, and other obligations there's so little time left. And too much to learn. The AI anxiety is real I wonder if you folks feel the same or I'm just struggling and burning out. Send me your best advice 😌

You've once again proven my theory that an English major with enough technical knowledge to properly use the coding lexicon will be the skillset of the immediate future. I refined my ability to one-shot, as you put it, thru trial, error, and utilizing Claude Design to create a "technical" (LOL, as much as it can be) planning doc for my app. It's surprisingly liberating and enlightening all at once to watch my autism-fuel, hyper detailed over thinking come to life in front of me. But now I need more tokens........ dammit.
