i know everyone is focused on the US elections but here's a small #SPARQL tip for those interested: if you need to find all properties that instances of a certain class have (often useful for understanding a new dataset or visualisation), you can write a simple query like:

IMDB was recently looking for someone with “Expertise in industry-standard ontology languages and tools (e.g., OWL, RDF, SPARQL, Protégé)” Wouldn’t it be cool to have SPARQL access to all that… indeed.com/viewjob?jk=fbc…

@namedgraph @OngDevLab I really like this but it’s got a learning curve ! Never convinced more than a few fellow devs on teams to embrace SPARQL : whenever Lucene syntax was an option, they used that (most prod graphs also support search in my experience)

@XiaoqiZhao When I run it (and the queries leading up to it) it works as shown in the book.

At the moment, currently working on a codebase I have no idea about(I learned about SPARQL queries this week...still learning 😭) Makes me think about the way I view intelligence..the ability to quickly decode something and forge forward no matter how difficult or long it takes?

@NebulaGraph I know you've taken a hard stance on RDF, but if you're thinking about SQL for graphs, why not support RDF so you can use SPARQL? 😅

I don't get it. Is it an unsolved computer science problem© to have an RDF dataset supporting SPARQL and other graph operations backed by a relational DB? (Except for proprietary Virtuoso and such)

@jamie_maguire1 @carlcod_es Yeah there's an explosion of work happening in this space. I'm more interested in RDF / SPARQL than SQL tbh. I want to mine the data lakes for semantic knowledge.
