@Poundstretcher1 Good start now why not be a leader amd stop selling them and maybe consider a charity donation to repair the land that’s damaged by them 👍🥾

Unfortunately this was the result of two disposable BBQs on the fell side. With the hot weather and the large number of visitors we are expecting over the coming weeks, we respectfully ask everyone to be aware of the potential dangers and act responsibly 🙏♨️🏕

We'd also love you to tag us in pictures of disposable barbecues on sale so we can directly ask the retailer to take them off the shelves. Firefighters heroics last week prevented any deaths from the excessive grass fires we faced. Now we need your help.

With another prolonged dry spell forecast, sad to see @Tesco #Glossop prominently stocking disposable barbecues which are often the source of moorland wildfires in the @peakdistrict - other local supermarkets have removed them from sale - theguardian.com/environment/20…

Image from last night: sometime recently some people hiked up a remote ridge in the @PeakDistrict to have an illicit barbecue in deep dry heather. At this location preventing a conflagration would have been near impossible.

Just ended up playing firefighter in Foxfield Spring Wood, #Sheffield as idiots had a fire under a holly tree in there. At the base of it we found two disposable barbecues, maybe from @coopuk on Burncross Road as that is the nearest place that sells them. #BanDisposableBBQs

@Sarahpeacockme @ShefEnvironment @coopuk @SYFR @syptweeet @ParksSheffield @sheffieldgsf @SheffieldGreens @SheffLabour @ShefClimateNews @SheffieldFoE @shefgreenpeace @coopuk will never stop selling these things, they make far too much money off the related sales of alcohol, meat, salad etc. They also believe in ensuring equal opportunities for everyone, who absolutely must be afforded the choice to BBQ in park or field if they have no garden

Of course they will - come on @marksandspencer #BeAResponsibleRetailer and stop encouraging people to light fires in our countryside - it’s banned in large parts of the @peakdistrict
Paul Wreglesworth@MacWreg

@LeaveTheBBQ This was @marksandspencer #Macclesfield today. "Bring on Summer Picnics" and "Forest Friendly". I did read beyond the big letters but anyone stupid enough to use these in the countryside will take it as permission to use in the local forrest. #leavetheBBQathome

A long, tough day for @WYFRS crews/officers, @WYFRSControl and everyone who supports the firefighting effort. Look through the frame - the damage is there for all to see but it’s raining, the smoke has gone and I could hear the curlew. Nature will slowly recover @MarsdenmoorNT
