@Ratwood1917 @RocketRTM @ZontarAlt The United States absolutely supported Iraq in the Iran Iraq war and we were absolutely involved in funding and supporting opposition to the Soviet invasion of Afghanistan. I am not saying the Soviets are blameless just that both sides of the Cold War contributed to the mess

In 25 years I have never actually heard an explanation for what the US actually did to Al Qaeda that made the 90s bombing and September 11th attack constitute "blowback".

@RocketRTM @ZontarAlt As for why the us, Europe had experienced quite a number of terror attacks throughout the 70s and 80s so it’s not like they were being left out and in the 90s we were the only super power left.

@RocketRTM @ZontarAlt It dosent justify mass murdering civilians nothing does, it’s just pointing out that we had a hand in making the region as unstable as it is and that instability tends to create the kind of organizations who commit mass murder
