I spoke with a parent of an Ole Miss football player who agreed with Lane Kiffin's Vanity Fair comments:
"I know most of the black parents who travel in for games don't feel comfortable. What Lane said was absolutely true. Ole Miss has an identity crisis if they believe there aren't two different Americas in Oxford, Mississippi, in 2026."

Gotta give credit to the @AlabamaBSB broadcast so far. Usually most SEC network plus streams are homers, besides Ole Miss and a couple of others, but the Alabama guys got just as animated when Ole Miss did something as they did with Alabama. They even interviewed Rabe afterward

He was told a month earlier he would not get to do both. He knew it. It wasn't news to him that final weekend. Some of us on the beat wrote about that, talked about that, etc. That was never an option. Everyone knew it.

Everyone gets mad at Lane Kiffin for leaving, and I understand the resentment. But part of the reason it turned into a major circus was that the man wanted to stay through the CFP run.

The best coach in Ole Miss history was not afforded the chance to finish the job.
It will never make sense.
