Today, I get called to the Nigerian Bar as a Barrister and Solicitor of the supreme court of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. Let's disturb the legal profession!✌️

For the lay people, Inner Bar is not a secret chamber where SANs go to meet with the judge. It’s just sits reserved for them in normal public court proceedings. It’s one of the privileges of being a Senior Advocate.

In court today, there was no SAN in court and so the Inner Bar was empty. The court was really congested so I went and sat there. Immediately I sat down, My Lord asked me if she had promoted me to the Inner Bar. Before I could placate My Noble Lord, she told me to sit while

@adek_14 Generally, they’re all referred to as “sir” and gender specific pronouns are rarely used in court. What is obtainable is mostly “the court” when referring to them

I have a nice experience in court today also. Though from the gallery and not from the Bar. My Lord in Osogbo H.C 4 is very jovial. My lord dey bant lawyers and whine them. The court took Judicial notice of my smile and asked in a very jovial tone ( arakurin, kín lon pa é kẹrin?) Mr man, what's making you smile. Mi Lord sef dey smile the court dey ask the question. Very nice thing to experience.
