@sapota_sub @PulpoNewman I'm glad you enjoyed it! :D
I haven't had brisket in a while, but MAN, IS IT GOOD!
English

@LegosArchive @PulpoNewman It was incredibly delicious!
I also feel like I can make it even better next time.

@cinnamondiary @PulpoNewman In World War II, the US Navy had a bunch of concrete barges that contained tons upon tons of frozen food, but especially, ice cream. Yes, ice cream! The ice cream was meant to boost the morale of overseas troops. I highly recommend reading through this:

I must admit, I found it really funny yet charming that Ramune was named after the Japanese saying "lemonade," but then I found out they like to do fun and silly things to their drinks like we do.
Drinks like these are rare here, but you can still find them in specialty shops sometimes. Flavors like Pickle, Bacon, Sweet Corn, Ranch Dressing, Black Olive, Mustard, and Cucumber. I mean, I'm not going to drink them, but some people do! Actually, I probably would try the pickle soda lol

@w_s_gosset @wylfcen Yep, schau/schauen is a cognate to show :)
English

@LegosArchive @wylfcen Probably same word as modern German's "schau" ("au" pronounced like "OW [I stubbed my toe]")
Not "see" but to look out/over, observe, see the panorama, see the display, see the whole.
English

A whole view of life is captured in the Old English word dūstsċēawung, which meant ‘dust-watching’ or ‘contemplation of dust’. People would watch motes of dust float in the sunlight, and think about how the dust used to be other things. A book, a tree, the walls of a city—a people, when it ceases to love itself—all will fade like the shouts of children on a summer day, or vanish like the memory of a dream. (IPA: [ˈduːstˌʃæɑ̯.wʊŋɡ])

@imaima0gou @chuki_zaru I'm not sure when Japan started added turbo buttons to PCs like this, but in the west, PCs had turbo buttons as a feature since roughly the mid-1980s. It stopped becoming commonplace around the mid-1990s.
