@FrostiPixels @Pirat_Nation You probably downloaded the Linux build that is still available on Steam servers. You need to download the Windows version and run through Proton.

@Pirat_Nation that's interesting, because last time I loaded up rocket league on Linux (literally three days ago) I got an error saying linux was no longer supported and could only play local or lan

@DetoJj @SrLinguicaVIVE @paulbatistta Pelo que entendi, jogos mais antigos não foram afetados por não ter esse DRM, e não acho que a Sony vá desligar o PS4 assim do nada pq a PSN dele é unificada com o PS5 pelo fato de os jogos do PS4 rodarem no 5.

Sobre o DRM para jogos digitais no PS4/PS5 Um usuário de PS5 vietnamita comprou dois jogos em março, Silent Hill F e Star Wars, que não estão mais funcionando por terem ficado offline por mais de 30 dias. Usei o Google para traduzir o texto

@DetoJj @SrLinguicaVIVE @paulbatistta Acontece igual qualquer jogo que tem DRM, se o servidor que faz a validação não está mais ativo, o jogo não funciona mais. Tem vários jogos de PC mais antigos que aconteceram isso.

@UnCedified @MugenLord You can play Steam games without Steam too; the problem is there's no clear way to know which games work and which don't. If a game is on GOG, there's a high chance to have no DRM on Steam either; Cyberpunk 2077 for example, you can download it from Steam and never open it again.

@MugenLord Every time people give me a rebuttal like that, they don't seem to count GOG.com literally giving you the game's files with no restrictions.
You can move it to a flash drive and play it without the need to open up a client unlike Steam!

You know what confuses me about the entire Nintendo Keycard outrage? Most of the people I know that are outraged about it, play their entire game library on steam.
Your entire gaming experience is digital, so what's the outrage about it? Why does it matter that much about physical media when you don't own anything physical to begin with?

@death_flips @Pirat_Nation It probably can handle simpler games like Degeki Bunko, Dragons Crown, etc. Don't expect to run demanding games like God of War 3.

@ItsJoCa10 @Fen0505 @Pirat_Nation What argument is this? If you go around downloading random IPAs on the internet, you're exposing yourself to the same risks as downloading random APKs. You could say the same for downloading software for Windows, Linux, and Mac.

@Fen0505 @Pirat_Nation Unfortunately Android has it worse as any APK you install from a shady site can cause problems and that it’s open source so, you never know what kinds of exploits can one discover. Before you say anything, I’ve been an Android user for over 13 years before switching to iOS.

No this doesn't mean freaky Peach stuff is happening. Instead, the Brazilian rating is believed to be tied to the gacha mechanics in the game.

@REVERNEDFICTION @NechoPlays You can play Xtreme 2,there is one bug where it shows a black square under character models. It is ugly but doesn't block from playing volleyball,also, doesn't happen in marine racing, the only mode you can't is the pool because the bug makes it hard to see which buttons to press

@Manaicgamein @marmilin @GiveMeBanHammer Steam TOS doesn't mention other storefronts like GOG or Epic. It mentions key resellers like GMG and Fanatical. As far as I know, Steam doesn't receive a cut from steam keys sold outside Steam.

@marmilin @GiveMeBanHammer Actually steam has it written into TOS you can’t have the game cheaper elsewhere on official storefronts. They will lift this for big companies but it shafts indie devs, as for keys most key sites are getting stock using stolen money and funds which hurts devs even worse

“Monopoly” according to you, is when Valve provides a better service than every other PC Storefront competitor that gamers and most game developers naturally make the CHOICE to use Steam as a service.
The best way to compete with Steam is to provide a better Service than Steam…but I guess that’s too much work, so some resort to calling it a Monopoly and sabotage via filing and supporting/cheering for lawsuits against Valve.

It’s less about a sudden shift in sentiment and more about a structural collision. Valve is currently staring down a £6.7bn antitrust claim in the UK over its 30% commission. The "world" isn't suddenly against them—the regulatory landscape is just finally catching up to a 20-year monopoly that’s been unchallenged for far too long.
