@arashdre21@toly Apple has been testing production in India for years now at this point, they were starting to see problems with having all the manufacturing in one place
Genuinely wondering. Why would Apple be incentivised to move supply chain? Isn’t that the case for all smartphone manufacturers? It’s not like there’s some American made producer who’s going to take market share. So they can just pass on the tariffs to consumers. So can Samsung and others
Tariffs from the pov of a small phone company.
Basically China is the cheapest place to make 100% of the phone. The 54% tariff is going to be on top of the invoice price of the US portion of the shipment. For us that’s 20% of the devices.
Components outside of China can be sourced from South Korea, Japan, Taiwan and US. The problem with sourcing them outside of China is that assembly will go up in costs as well. China does assembly integrated with the suppliers, so the iteration cycles are much faster. So assembly cost is 5% in China with China suppliers. Likely 20% anywhere else.
Here is an old paper (technologyreview.com/2016/06/09/159…)
The big thing to watch is what Apple does. They have enough power to reorient supply chains around and reduce costs at scale. 🍿🍿🍿
@getpeid Love the essential space feature as a user of nothing phone 2, with widgets with a lot of to-dos and screenshot/notes all over the place, tryed obsidian but the design and setup process with folders is keeping the inertia to high to use.
I will anxiously wait try that feature.
@getpeid - Phone with telephoto lens.
- In the other accent color instead of only red like (blue, orange, etc)
- when the new phone comes all the possible colors be available, so I don't have to wait a year and wait to see which is my favourite
@frankdegods 🤣🤣 you can't play basketball with a pine cone, or a piece of paper or even with a rock, in underdeveloped countrys no chance, so you will not get the masses like Latin America
Doing a PPP memecoin experiment that might or might not involve airdrops.

If we get enough real participants, the experiment will proceed 🐱
@hexbtc the kids that are buying superfluous stuff won't use any traditional investment either, they aren't the target demographic, for that type of people we just need an option to pay with stable coins when they are buying something.
(sorry for the English)
The clowning of retail is a little misguided
If some 18 y/o kid told you they’ve invested in ‘crypto’, chances are it’s ADA, XRP, BCH or some other shit
Considering that, the advice of not buying crypto is generally sound for most people, unless they’re in the trenches aping the latest narratives, which by the way, they’re not
Nor are they HODL’ing Bitcoin for over a decade
This is the same demographic buying shoes on 24 month finance plans
We need to sober up and realise we have a narrative problem, and a dramatic PMF problem
We can all agree today's vibes are the worst so far since the bear market doom loop
I'm currently trying to find out games that work on Mac to avoid succumbing into the doom loop
