@LizaRutherford7 @Irishchutzpah Certainly Haaretz is one of the few remaining Israeli publications not towing the government line. As for left and right, that's a nonsense argument. Newspapers are supposed to speak truth to power, but most fail in this simple, but daunting task.

The Middle East ratchet feuds up to massacres - one could argue that this is their culture ?? This seemingly endless saga will only end when Arabs accept Israel's right to exist

@RealJohnLynch @stevethewall Well, the situation in Palestine is nauseating. I feel sick when I read about what is going on there, and it has been going on for a long time. Here's a good overview. youtube.com/watch?v=6MVz5M… For me there is no justifying violence. Only dialogue will bring peace.

I admire that he spoke out about Nova so promptly - the deafening silence of so many other Entertainment ‘personalities’ on 10/7 while bleating Free Pal….. is nauseating, and their inconsistency shows them in very poor light !

@RealJohnLynch @stevethewall Well, I don't despise Bono. I think he's always been a bit weird. He quite rightly spoke out against the slaughter on Oct 7. But he hasn't mentioned the slaughter that has taken place since. That is inconsistent. A true humanitarian would question both atrocities.

@rayofoghlu Good points Ray, somewhat bleak, but real. Still, as we actually need landscape wide reform of land use, I'd favour direct payment top-up options for eco actions. Designation is necessary for protection of vital habitats & I don't sympathise much with those wanting to wreck them.
