@MichaelSalfino @RpsAgainstTrump Made huge sacrifices. Shut the whole world down you idiot. And who was president when everything was shut down? It was Trump. And that pissed off a lot of his voters. You are so dense.

@LetUsThinkMore As with the A-10 game last weekend, a clock/time check from the refs takes precedence. So if the refs are going to stop the game for clock review the running on the court never happened.

🚨🚨CRAZIEST STAT EVER🚨🚨 41 of the 121 players on the 2008 Florida Gators football team roster were arrested at some point during their careers or afterward. A record 33 percent of players on that roster have been in jail. This Gators team won the 2008 National Championship.

@DoctorLemma It’s terrible that the coach had such a good player on his team but didn’t play him. Why, because he was autistic?

19 years ago, a high school basketball coach put his team manager into a game for the final four minutes. The kid had never played a single minute of competitive basketball in his life. He scored 20 points. Jason McElwain was diagnosed with severe autism at age two. He didn’t speak until he was five. He couldn’t chew solid food until he was six. He wore a nappy for most of his early childhood. As a baby, he was rigid, wouldn’t make eye contact, and hid in corners away from other children. He tried out for his school basketball team every year and got cut every time. Too small. Too slight. Barely 5’6 and about 54 kilograms. But he loved the game so much that his mum called the school and asked if there was any way he could be involved. The coach created a team manager role for him. For three years, McElwain showed up to every practice and every game. He wore a shirt and tie on match days. He ran drills, handed out water, kept stats, and cheered every basket like he’d scored it himself. On 15 February 2006, the last home game of his final school year, the coach let him suit up in a proper jersey and sit on the bench. With four minutes left and a comfortable lead, the coach sent him in. His first shot missed. His second missed. Then something shifted. He hit a three-pointer. Then another. Then another. His teammates stopped shooting entirely and just kept passing him the ball. He hit six three-pointers and a two-pointer. 20 points in four minutes. The highest scorer in the game. When the final buzzer went, the entire crowd rushed the court and lifted him onto their shoulders. His mum tapped the coach on the shoulder, in tears. “This is the nicest gift you could have ever given my son.” McElwain won the ESPY Award for Best Moment in Sports that year, beating out some of the biggest names in professional sport. He’s 36 now. He works at a local supermarket, coaches basketball, has run 17 marathons including five Boston Marathons, and travels the country speaking about never giving up. When asked about that night, his coach still gets emotional. “For him to come in and seize the moment like he did was certainly more than I ever expected. I was an emotional wreck.”

@hodgetwins @joekent16jan19 He characterized this as a war that serves no purpose to the American people. Acting as if he doesn't understand how China, Russia, Iran, Venezuela, and Cuba are all related is absurd. The fact you can't connect the dots is not Trump's problem. It's yours.

After much reflection, I have decided to resign from my position as Director of the National Counterterrorism Center, effective today. I cannot in good conscience support the ongoing war in Iran. Iran posed no imminent threat to our nation, and it is clear that we started this war due to pressure from Israel and its powerful American lobby. It has been an honor serving under @POTUS and @DNIGabbard and leading the professionals at NCTC. May God bless America.

@TheNewsBadger @robbystarbuck @joekent16jan19 Agree, but that's not what he did here in his letter. He characterized this as a war that serves no purpose to the American people. Acting as if he doesn't understand how China, Russia, Iran, Venezuela, & Cuba are all related is absurd. You & many others also miss the point.

@robbystarbuck @joekent16jan19 And please do not just reflexively defend Trump from Joe's valid America First criticism. This Iran war was obviously started for Israel & Trump seems to think the majority support it when we can all see the opposite is true. Even if YOU support it, be honest and read the room.

For people calling Joe names, I want you to take a beat and remember that his wife was killed in the Middle East. He’s entitled to feel strongly about wars in the Middle East, even if you or I disagree. His sacrifice and service as a soldier is owed that respect even if you don’t agree and it’s honorable that he’s stepping down if he knows that he can’t faithfully discharge his duties in a conflict he doesn’t support. I myself have some trepidation about a longterm war but I believe Trump’s record gives him some latitude to handle Iran in a reasonable timeframe. My final point though, is that we can’t demand blind obedience and agreement. That’s not how you build coalitions. I wish Joe nothing but the best as he’s given his best years and sacrificed his greatest love for our nation.

@joekent16jan19 Was with you I til you said: "serves no purpose to the American people." That's not true. Unreal that aan in your position does not understand the moves in Venezuela, Iran, and perhaps Cuba and how they relate to Russia and China. Or, you do know, and are being deceitful.

Season stat averages over the last 3 years: 65 Receptions 890 yards 4 TDs The value here was not just in the player, but the contract. Minimal hit in 2026, and $23M in 2027 and $25M in 2028. For context, Alec Pierce just signed for $28.5M/yr, & his 3 year avg are not as good.
Tom Pelissero@TomPelissero

Full trade: Broncos get Waddle and Dolphins’ 4th-round pick (11th in round) in this year’s draft. Dolphins get: 1st round pick (30th overall) along with late 3rd and 4th round picks (30th in each round) in this year’s draft.
