Sitting Presidents must be prevented from signing contracts that stretch beyond their time in office and should be answerable for messes they create during their tenure even when they leave office.
Imagine this: the president knows of a man who impregnated a woman young enough to be his daughter, allegedly killed her, and got away with it. The same man then went on to dispossess his brother’s widow. Instead of ensuring the families get justice, the president is using that as campaign material. To make matters worse, he even chose him as a running mate despite that troubling history. We have reduced the presidency into something else, and one day we will pay a heavy price for allowing this kind of BULLSHIT.
President Ruto to Eugene wamalwa::
Kuna mwingine(Wamalwa) kutoka hapa Kitale, Aliachiwa kila kitu na ndugu yake. Namwambia enda ujenge kwako kwanza, Tafuta bibi ununue diaper. Utaongoza nchi gani kama hujui kuongoza boma yako?
Umetafutiwa bibi Nairobi.🤣
Why is he stooping this low as a president?
In Dec 27th 2007 , Johanna Ngong Ngeno won Election in Kilgoris constituency with 24000 votes, This became very controversial and the vote count was disrupted & Stopped Marred by chaos & all ballot boxes burnt into ashes simply because most Residents in kilgoris were........
We blame @Rigathi for everything even when he states the obvious about EQUITY - why for example don’t we have top schools spread across the country. Why doesn’t my County of Narok - one of the richest in country - have at least 5 top public schools with world class infrastructure? The Principle of EQUITY is enshrined in the Constitution and it is NOT tribalism! HONESTY 101!
Just an annual reminder that the persons who created this education/CBC mess now want us to give them the presidency so they can even mess us up more.
Oh… before you throw your barbs about me tweeting from the comfort of xyz, I have parted with thousands of shillings in the past two weeks to cover education needs as parents struggle to pay fees and buy school supplies.
I went through the old 7-4-2-3 system of education . My 7 years in Primary School and my 4 Secondary School years were in Day Schois in Gatundu. I first met a Luhya, Somali, Luo , Kisii, Kalenjin and Giriama during my 2 years A-Levels at Thika High School. I first saw a Turkana at the University of Nairobi. When I became MP for Gatundu South I built dormitories and converted 100% of all 38 Public Secondary Schools into Boarding Schools so that no other Child get an opportunity to meet kids from other tribes at University like I did. These were County and Extra County Schools. Now the idiot from Wamunyoro wants to convert NATIONAL schools into village schools. I will fight this retrogressive and primitive man to my death. God has commanded me to do so. It is the right and moral thing to do. It is not about William Ruto. It is about this country I truly love and cherish.
January is audit season for finances.
But nobody audits their #leadership.
Here are 3 questions I'm asking myself this week (with brutally honest answers):
1/4
@KenyaPower_Care Very disappointing that power disruption can last more than a week especially if it's supply power to an hospital @DandelionAfrica in Rongai, kampi ya moto Soin ward. The only hospital serving the surrounding community. This is happening despite numerous calls to your office
Good Evening. The listed areas will be affected by planned power maintenance tomorrow (2nd April, 2025). The interruption is part of network maintenance. For the advance notice, use shorturl.at/gbhap. To access the latest schedule, check under the most recent date. ^MW
Dear @SpaceX , I was amongst the first people in Kenya to instal @Starlink satellite dish in my house at a high price of nearly us$600 & a monthly fee of about us$50 .. I did it based on your representation of uninterrupted wi fi connections. For the past one week, I have not had wi fi in my house. Your local agents advise me that loss of internet connection is due to regular “power outages” in Kenya! And that if I need a permanent solution, I purchase Starlink Ethernet adaptor which with ancillary parts will cost me additional us$300! It means therefore that to have a reliable starlink internet connection only for a residence, one needs us$900! In Kenya, average income is us$2 per day! You are making me choose between your promise of a young vibrant love & my relationship with Safaricom that was an old abusive relationship albeit stable though slow most of the time! Maybe @elonmusk can weigh in! After all, he is from Africa & understands power supply & incomes in Africa!
Abolishment of religious courts in the UK would be a disaster for other religious minorities such as Jews as well.
Sharia courts in the UK, to the best of my knowledge, operate on the same basis as the Rabbincal courts do - i.e. on a by choice opt-in, civil-only basis.
Meaning the courts that judge accordingly to Jewish law do so only via civil agreement (ie the parties to a conflict both submit - willing to the judgement of the court). As such this is a form of civil mediation. The courts have no legal juristiction vis-a-vis UK law at all should a party not wish to subject themselves to this.
So, it's an absolutly 'by choice' decision. If two parties want to solve some conflict themselves there is zero reason why they shouldn't be allowed to do so - as long as nothing contrivines the law of the land.
This whole discussion of religious courts in the UK is therefore so distracting. If I want to solve some dispute with my neigbour -and he agrees - without going to civil UK court, there is nothing that stops us from doing so. In fact, mediation services are exactly this. The fact that one chooses to be 'mediated' according to some set of religious rules is totally up to that person in a free society.
Just as it's totally in the right of any member of a free society to criticise all and any religions - including views on how these courts decide and operate.
That's what being free means - I get to decide.
If one doesn't like Sharia, fine. I certainly don't agree with it being Jewish after all. Therefore, I won't subject myself to a Sharia court for my civil disputes. But for those who want to use some Quran, Torah, or magic-tooth fairy-book-based set of laws for mediating their civil disputes who cares?
Now, if the concern is religious coercion within communities then yes, I totally agree that this is a signiificant problem and that needs to be addressed.
This discussion is a total distraction from the very real issues and the related issues of failed multiculturalism, immigration policy, etc.
Fare from Nairobi to Kisumu is 3500, You have a wife and three children. That is 35,000 kwenda na kurudi. At Nakuru they will stop and eat something. From Kisumu you will take a motorbike or taxi home. You cannot go home empty handed therefore you will need to do shopping. While at home you will be zakayoed any little money you have left. A minimum budget of 50,000 for a struggling Kenyan. I feel you.
