@wheeliebin69 It’s actually worse. If you use assigned sex, why can’t a cis man just… lie and say they’re a trans man? What’re you gonna do, demand they strip?

@sally_hines So let’s make it even easier by letting them have easier access! Hurrah! Now everyone can congratulate themselves and feel smug at how progressive they must be.

Actually no I haven’t. And neither has any woman I know. What is being described here is violent assault. If a man is intent on attacking a woman in this way a sign on a door is not going to stop him.

@sally_hines Never been dragged into a lockable cubicle by a man then? I have. One easy way to avoid this scenario - keep men’s & women’s facilities separate. Then we can easily spot who’s up to no good & prevent it before it even happens. It puzzles me why you would want to enable this?

@BoldfaceJames I save my bombs for the nests, potions I don't use that often, only when something is actually giving me trouble. Other than that I just used whatever felt right to beat an enemy.

@AmericalGun Canada, Japan, Europe all have standing old growth forests that act as windbreaks. Florida had the largest forest in America, now it is known for it's hurricanes. The fact tornado worshippers can't learn fluid dynamics means they will continue to worship rather than solve problem

@maklelan No it doesn’t. It says that if someone was to strike a pregnant women and the baby either dies or is injured in some way then it’s an eye for an eye punishment for the perpetrator. If the baby is fine then the perpetrator is still fined.

In the very next chapter after the “you shall not murder” commandment, the Covenant Code declares that killing a fetus wasn’t murder & that a fetus was property & not a person (a few verses after saying there was no punishment for accidentally killing your slave).
Riley Gaines@Riley_Gaines_

How about "thou shall not murder" ??? The Bible is crystal clear about the value of innocent human life. It’s also clear about wolves in sheep’s clothing who distort Scripture to fit a political agenda.

@Centristman @maklelan If the punishment for accidental killing a fetus and the punishment for accidentally killing a person are different, then the Bible does not view the death of a fetus as the death of a person.

@maklelan Incorrect. The passage is about the accidental injury of a pregnant woman and if the murdered is a formed fetus, the penalty is “a life for a life.” The passage does not condone the killing of a fetus because she or he is unwanted or inconvenient.

@Celtakes @buggirl So what you’re critiquing is not the actual facts of what she’s describing, nor whether or not the person is correct in their self assessment of taxes, but the joke she made at his expense?

@LetsConsider @buggirl Right, but you can’t call someone a “broke boy” for complaining when they’re paying the same rate as a billionaire and say shit like “this doesn’t apply to you” when it quite literally applies to him in the eyes of the state. The OP was way off base in her sentiment, thats all.

@TorstiNisula @agaphto @Wouaaaf95 I’d argue Christianity creates a far worse destructive cycle since all the consequences for your actions only exist after they can be confirmed. Were you right to simply chop down every tree for your personal gain? Who knows, but Christianity says if you like God, all is forgiven

Aside from the fact that many atheist don't believe in objective morality (which is not the same as no morality dot be stupid...er) if morality is subject to your gods whims, guess what? It's not objective.

@Celtakes @buggirl Except “eat the rich” is a statement of discontent with how little the rich are being taxed. Or that we should kill them, since they refuse to engage with the social contract.

@LetsConsider @buggirl Fair, but the point of my reply is that the OP is like “Bro, you’re broke, “eat the rich” doesn’t apply to you” when it literally does because, as it stands now, he’s paying the same fuckin tax rate so wtf is she even saying? That’s my point.

@Celtakes @buggirl You’re arguing that “tax the rich” is wrong because this guy making a reasonable amount of money is being taxed the same as people making absurd money. I agree, and the solution is to tax the people making absurd amounts significantly more.

@LetsConsider @buggirl They do have a progressive tax plan but the highest bracket is $190k+ and it’s taxed at 45% so the average Joe who inherited $200k is paying the same rate as someone who gained $200 million. That’s my point.

@buggirl Okay? He’s not saying he’s rich. He’s actually saying the opposite and that he’s basically feeling the effects of “tax the rich”, even though he not rich, by paying the same capital gains on that measly $200k as the rich would.
