Scott is 100% correct on this, it's a point that is not well understood today. Those of us of British descent are here largely because our ancestors were Britain's unwanted unemployed, unskilled and underclass, not part of some patriotic ferver to colonise the world and spread...

I don't share his politics but I feel for Southland MP Joseph Mooney, who posted about trade with India & has been inundated with comments by British neo-Nazis who seem to believe NZ is still their colony.

@GraemeEdgeler issues that meet the vibe. I think Trump does a lot of this - he's charismatic, and he has an uncanny knack of putting his finger on issues that people care about (and then often picking the dumbest possible policy response to that issue).
