@NJBeisner I am Catholic and find the collective obsession with whether or not Charlie was or wasn’t converting to be absolutely bizarre. And it started almost IMMEDIATELY after he died.

Candace sarcastically says, “Charlie was evangelical, doesn’t matter that he was going to mass everyday.” Charlie was evangelical. It’s literally one of the last words out of his mouth. According to her theory, he was privately Catholic while maintaining a public confession of Protestantism? So he was a liar? Two-faced? Ashamed of being Catholic? Nearly a year ago, my wife went to the hospital for stomach pain. They did a CT Scan of her abdomen and thankfully didn't find anything serious. We got a bill in the mail of $9,117.42 I spent months talking to insurance, the hospital, billing appeals... I was told the claim was still processing. I was told the claim was out of the normal service area. I was told it wasn't clear it was medically necessary. I was told the insurance wasn't valid on the date of service. Finally, we got it handled, but it took well over 6 months from the day we got the first bill to the day we finished the process and paid. We did everything right. We have insurance. We pay our insanely high premiums every single month. It's just so frustrating. This whole healthcare system is broken, from top to bottom.

Every time my sister’s baby woke at night, her husband got up, changed the diaper, and handed the baby to her to nurse. It worked for them. After my son was born, it became clear my husband was not built for middle-of-the-night duty. From 12–5:30 a.m., I was on my own. But every morning he took the baby, let me sleep, and had hot coffee waiting when I woke up. That worked for us. There’s no one-size-fits-all in parenting, despite what 𝕏 discourse would have you believe.

Since some silly claims are being made right now: No, Charlie Kirk did not "hate" @benshapiro. Charlie and Ben differed about the best direction for the conservative movement. Ben supported Ron DeSantis in the 2024 primary while Charlie was all-in for Trump from the start. JD Vance was one of Charlie's favorite politicians, while Ben has been critical of him. Charlie saw Ben as a rival: They both had high-profile shows and major conservative organizations, and Charlie wanted his to be bigger. Charlie sometimes found Ben frustrating or annoying, because he thought Ben was too interventionist, prioritized Israel too much, and the like. And yeah, I'm sure there was personality friction too. But whatever their differences, Ben defended Charlie from bogus claims of racism and never joined in ridiculous smears labeling him an antisemite. If Charlie hated Ben, he wouldn't have kept inviting him to AmericaFest and having him on our show (including the day before his death). He wouldn't have kept going on Ben's show. He wouldn't have had TPUSA and Daily Wire collaborate on a documentary just last year. There were plenty of people on the right whom Charlie denounced and refused to work with. Ben wasn't one of them.

This is a good example of how defamation works in the modern age, and why it’s not as simple as “just sue them.” The person in this recording is absolutely not Erika. It couldn’t even be Erika because she was like 16 at the time of this recording. And yet this account, amplified by bigger accounts like Ian Carroll, has made this claim recklessly and with malicious disregard for the truth. Can Erika sue over it? Does she have any recourse at all? Sure, she can sue. I hope she does. But in order to win a lawsuit she’d have to prove that this person posted this nonsense knowing it wasn’t true, and then she’d probably have to prove damages, and then she’d have to hope that the broke assholes who posted and amplified it actually have the funds to pay, which they don’t. And all of this will take a long time, years potentially, to sort itself out in court. Even if she wins, it won’t make a difference to the people who’ve already decided that she’s some kind of cartoon villain. They’ll just use the fact of the lawsuit as proof that Erika “has something to hide.” Meanwhile she will have only further highlighted and called attention to the very lies she’s trying to rectify in court. So in other words, it’s the ultimate lose-lose scenario. I’ve experienced much smaller versions of this. People who engage in outright open defamation, slandering my character with totally manufactured lies, and yet I don’t sue for all the reasons above. It’s total bullshit. The upshot is that the slanderers and defamers basically have carte blanche to lie about you and destroy your reputation. Your only recourse is costly, takes a long time, and may damage your reputation even more.
