SDGE currently reporting 12 unexpected power outages across Southern California. Particularly, South Orange County and San Diego areas. Outage cause currently unknown and being looked into. Restored power estimated, 10:30pm

@juand_alonso @amyforsandiego That’s the border fire. We have border fires every other month, or whenever the wind blows. The Gilman Fire in the canyon will need investigation- could be a homeless encampment. But it is windy by the beach today, so it could have been a yard maint spark or powerline.

@amyforsandiego This has got to be arson—too many wild fires randomly just popping up: just got a call from my kid’s school in La Jolla that, out of an abundance of caution, they want all the kiddos picked up—Gilman fire apparently picking up 😞 That fire past Otay is raging with meanness too.

Border Fire San Diego: The fire has crested Otay and impacted communications tower at the top of the mountain - per radio traffic. Multiple aircraft are over the fire.

Live camera on #GilmanFire location: cameras.alertcalifornia.org/?pos=32.8700_-… I'm now home (red dot) getting pets, supplies & go bag ready. Rush hour is now underway around UCSD/Gilman. Just heard: UCSD is under evacuation orders. Fire and police vehicles were heading in as we were driving out. Before leaving I advised one of the program coordinators of the fire, then left the classroom with one other student who was also using the @watchdutyapp We both had received the alerts. She had parked on Gilman! The winds are whipping thru this area. It was already full of dust, construction debris from a nearby worksite.
