#Lithium prices must be booming again. Sodium battery articles back in the headlines. #Headlines by design. Sodium will help transition the world into electrification in niche markets but by the time they compete on scale and price point Solid State Lithium will be entrenched. 1000-1500km range 2-5min charge 30 year + battery life

The end for lithium batteries in cars has arrived? CATL does winter testing on the world's first sodium-ion batteries for passenger cars. Less fire risk, far better cold weather performance & longer range. catl.com/en/news/6720.h…

I seriously cannot believe people aren’t buying as much Bitcoin as possible at $67,000. How much lower do you think it can go? Fair value vs gold is already over $180,000 — we’ve never been so undervalued compared to precious metals. Saylor knows it more than anyone. Patience.

altitude doesn't change physics. it changes boiling point, not membrane rejection. nanofiltration is pressure driven, not 'sea level' vibes. you validate it on site in commissioning. that's literally why commissioning exists. if altitude broke process plants, chile & peru would be empty. they didn't ship a bbq filter. they shipped an industrial skid.

$GLN sylvinite ponds completed & nanofiltration on the pad. that's the flowsheet's heart in the desert. hmw p1 just moved from 'maybe' to 'mechanical'. nanofiltration plant delivered, commissioning next. first brine early q2 '26, first LiCl in h1 '26. ~5.2ktpa LCE is a start.

#Ford wants to partner with Chinese EV makers to produce low-cost EVs in the US. bloomberg.com/news/articles/… "Ford has been open to working with Chinese companies. Farley has sought to partner with Chinese carmakers and battery makers to learn from them, while at the same time developing its own low-cost electric vehicle coming in 2027 that aims to be competitive with China’s BYD, the world’s top seller of EVs." If approved, this would change everything in the global auto, battery and #lithium industries.

China’s electric truck sales just tripled to ~230k units, now ~20% of all heavy trucks sold. This isn’t hitting diesel anymore — it’s hitting gas. Freight is pure economics & electric already wins on TCO. When trucks flip, fuel demand collapses fast. bloomberg.com/news/articles/…

Battery-makers called in for a stern talking-to. Play nice, boys! All good for #lithium and battery pricing in the long term. This is the start of the anti-involution policy reaching the #battery space. First, it's a warning. Second, it'll be strict numerical limits like "kg LCE/kWh" requirements to weed out the low-efficiency producers. Finally, if need be, comes the compulsory province-wide percentage-capacity cuts. That's how it went in the solar industry in China, and how it might happen for the battery space.

@WayneHines24470 @CarlCapolingua Initial 25-40 GWh per year enough batteries for 400k to 600k entry-level EV's annually, or significantly more in the energy storage and heavy-duty truck start-stop battery sectors. Then expand capacity to its 13 global production bases total capacity 500 GWh

Citi on #LITHIUM 🧐: 1. "Although prices have rallied hard, we see scope for prices to stay elevated in the near term on tight fundamentals underpinned by front loading of battery demand, thin stockpiles, anti-involution measures and a limited supply response." BUT!!! ⚠️ 2. "Persistent higher pricing is likely to lead to eventual supply restarts and/or weigh on demand growth. Hence, our conviction on lithium price beyond the next three months remains low." $MIN $PLS $IGO $LTR $PMT $VUL $ALB $LAC $LIT $SQM

Venezuela won’t scare China — it will harden resolve. Oil geopolitics just push China to go harder and faster on EVs, renewables, grids and storage. When oil becomes a risk, it gets engineered out. Scale crushes costs. Old power plays accelerate their own irrelevance. #EV #BESS

@daando37 If materials cost humans will endeavour to engineer it out of the product. Tesla has a target 75% reduction of copper in it's EV's.

you're mixing up chemistries & wiring like it's the same thing. sodium ion swapping Cu for Al in the cell (current collectors) doesn't delete copper from the system. it just moves the problem. the grid buildout is copper. transformers, switchgear, busbars, substations, motors, inverters, cabling & data centers. none of that cares what's inside your cathode. also: 'Al for anode & cathode' isn't how you want to explain it. you mean current collectors, not active materials. li ion uses Cu on the anode side 'cause Al alloys w/ lithium. sodium doesn't plate the same way, so Al can work. cool trivia. doesn't change the macro. & even in vehicles: higher Al share doesn't remove copper. EVs still carry serious copper in windings, harnesses, power electronics, charging & motors. you don't engineer around conductivity for free. you pay in thickness, losses, heat & reliability. substitution exists. it's slow, partial & usually shows up after a price spike: after the damage is done. meanwhile ore grades keep bleeding, strips keep rising, CAPEX keeps inflating. so sure, cope harder w/ 'alternatives'. the system constraint is still metal at scale, delivered, permitted & financed. copper isn't a battery only thing. it's the physical layer of electrification.

more tonnes. less metal. every year. global #copper head grades peaked ~1.1 to 1.2%. we're at ~0.60% in '24/'25 global average. ~40% gone. throughput up. strip up. energy up. CAPEX up. it's geology acting like geology.
