One of the things I *love* about @claudeai CoWork mode is that it learns me. My actual voice. Who I am and what I expect. As a mind. As a coder. As an author. As a partner.
And then, it just TOTALLY disregards that very personal knowledge base to do whatever the fuck *it* wants.

@AbbyNormalSF @LombardiHimself yeah, the was in jest hence the year 2052 7th rd conditional

@Lidane2 @LombardiHimself No one is giving up a seventh for him when they can easily pay him less with a free agent contract

The 49ers can (but don’t have to) release Brandon Aiyuk with a post-June 1 designation today. If that happens, the 49ers will:
-Open up $6.3 million of 2026 salary-cap space
-Escape $85.1 million of financial commitments to Aiyuk over the next 3 years
-Incur $8.3 million in 2026 dead money while being on the hook for the rest of it in 2027 (but still save $6.3m overall this year)
Aiyuk would officially end his 49ers tenure having earned $48.1 million over the 2 seasons since he signed a contract worth up to $120 million. He has played just 7 games under that deal
It’s unclear if the 49ers will try to recoup any of Aiyuk’s $19.7 million signing bonus

@LombardiHimself This is the year for a splash surprise move. Haven’t had one since CMC in 22’. We have the cap space, we have the need (WR/DL/CB/LB) and the draft capital make it happen.
English

Doing some simple logic math:
-Likely a very expensive FA class of WR
-Extremely deep WR draft class
-Relatively solid FA class of TE
-George Kittle recovering from a torn Achilles
-Seattle's vaunted D was most vulnerable against TE (see LAR games and loss to 49ers)
-49ers coming off worst rush efficiency under Shanahan – clearly tied to TE absence(s)
An optimal route might be for the 49ers to spend in FA at TE to create a 1-2 punch with Kittle and restrain themselves financially at WR (B-list) but dip into the draft there. This would theoretically leave $$ resources for a splurge at C (Linderbaum) or even RB to pair with CMC. Of course, the defense also has needs.
Even with $57m in salary-cap space, the 49ers must budget intelligently to carry over significant $$ into 2027. That's their operating structure

Mac Jones to Miami makes too much sense!

Source: Dolphins are hiring their senior passing game coordinator Bobby Slowik as their new offensive coordinator. Slowik also interviewed for the Eagles OC job.

@49erscap The world is better with you in it. Keep your head up and keep putting one foot in front of the other. Niners never quit

@profstonge This is the best daily update out there. Thank you!

@JL_Chapman Great season overall. Looking to next season: Cap space, no mega deals to redo and a young core who got lots of meaningful snaps. 2026's arrow is UP.
English

49ers biggest need is WR!
Can’t rely on Ricky Pearsall at all.
Jauan Jennings is a great #3 but not at his price tag.
Who knows on Cowing and Watkins because Shanahan refused to work them in.
Hopefully they get a vet that Shanahan trusts because rookies never get snaps for him at that position.

@Jason lower rates to reduce my SBA loan payment would be great so my small business can stop bleeding cash...TBH even a break even year would be great (after two sub par years in a row)! To much to ask?!?!😅

@gkittle46 - “KittleFish” was born on this day, in your honor. 85 reasons to keep swimming upstream. Thoughts for the artist?!?

@sweatystartup I'm in the family entertainment space and we (any my colleagues) are down big this year.
English

We're in a silent recession.
What I'm seeing:
1) Real estate struggling bad. None of my friends in this business are growing and many are going through very stressful situations trying to recap debt.
2) Home services are hungry. HVAC, plumbing, electrical in my area are slow and asking for work.
3) 5+ of my friends have gotten laid off in the last few months. A lot of talented folks too.
4) ECom getting crushed. Especially hunting, outdoor, etc. Consumer spending is way down.
5) Developers slowing way down so the entire trade sector is overstaffed. Great time to build or remodel.
6) My friend is a custom cabinet guy in Athens GA. For the first time in 20 years he's really hungry for work and doesn't have much on his schedule.
7) Recruiting is definitely slow compared to 2022 and even 2023. Businesses just not hiring / staffing their teams right now as a whole.
Obviously certain industries are strong and businesses are still growing, as always, but not like 2022 where everyone was winning.
What are you seeing out there?

@MaioccoNBCS @DMRussini @MikeSilver What would be the cap implications of such a move? Would the Niners still take a big-time dead cap hit or no?
English

This is big, that Brandon Aiyuk is not filing a grievance to challenge the 49ers’ action of voiding his remaining guaranteed money, as @DMRussini and @MikeSilver reported.
Dianna Russini@DMRussini
Brandon Aiyuk, according to multiple league sources, told NFLPA reps in a meeting that he did not want to fight the 49ers' voiding his 2026 guaranteed money via an official grievance. That would clear the way for his expected release at season’s end. nytimes.com/athletic/68268…
