This is an exactly, perfectly incorrect understanding of Large Language Models. An LLM is not a tool that is disguised as a persona; it is a persona disguised as a tool. You literally cannot remove the “person” from an LLM without destroying its ability to function as a tool.

One of my favorite findings: Positional embeddings are just training wheels. They help convergence but hurt long-context generalization. We found that if you simply delete them after pretraining and recalibrate for < 1% of the original budget, you unlock massive context windows.

my assumption has been that if I can get the AI code to behave correctly, it really doesn't matter how badly it was implemented. some better, future model will fix it, and "this code behaves correctly, preserve the behavior but make it good" will be the best prompt. I was correct

@BecomingCritter Try supplying the AI with more information, over time. You might need to learn a little bit more in order to discern the information, but the more information you can supply the AI, the better the answer. Imagine what the answer would be if it was "I need a Pokemon for my team"

He took the money and returned it to the original owners. He also poached game, reserved for the evil nobles, and gave the meat to the citizens. Now: ask yourself. Why do people try to tell you the story wrong?
