Statement from Cllr Samantha Gethen: I was asked to leave a SEND community roundtable this morning - not for causing disruption, but because the local Conservative MP, @bhatti_saqib, refused to begin the meeting until I left. I attend North Solihull’s SEND support group as a parent of children with SEND. Yes, I am also an elected Reform councillor - but today I attended as a mother wanting to discuss support for children and families. Rather than allow the meeting to become uncomfortable for the organisers or other parents attending, I chose to leave out of respect for them, and for the significant time and effort that had gone into organising the event for local SEND families. Their priorities should always come before any attempt by the local MP to ostracise me because of my political affiliation. It is deeply disappointing that a non-political family event was turned into a political issue. Excluding a SEND parent from a conversation about their child’s future is wrong. SEND families deserve to be heard, regardless of politics.

Xbox won’t be around as a console-maker in 5-10 years because it’s failing and all that will be left is Microsoft Gaming. Xbox used to be my main platform, Xbox 360 was my main system growing up and I utterly loved it but I really can’t pretend otherwise anymore and you shouldn’t neither. Even fanboys have got to see it at this point with continuous mass layoffs, studio shut downs and game cancellations, these things only happen when a brand is failing, Game Pass is not working out and their bet on Cloud Gaming and Hybrid Consoles is all they have left, and if that doesn’t work out, Xbox is gone. Their studios will either be gutted even further or shut down or sold off which would be the best case scenario, I really don’t want this to happen because competition is important but this is already happening and it is sad. I miss 360 era Xbox so much.

@RyanJKosior @SynthPotato For what it's worth, I used to work for Xbox and op is correct. It was obvious their long term strategy is to stop making consoles, they want the windows store to rival steam, if that happens or xbox continue to slide they will absolutely stop producing consoles

Because you're using this event that's tragic to the individuals involved to continue perpetuating the false narrative that Xbox is no longer going to make consoles despite a recent announcement to the contrary. I hate these layoffs too but you're ignoring the fact that it's corporation wide throughout Microsoft, not just Xbox.
