I hate to say this in the face of violence but want to point this out so liberals can make the connection. Brown University is anti gun. A shooting still happened. Australia banned guns, and a shooting happened yesterday. Banning guns doesn't work. All it does is give access to bad guys with guns, and good guys can't defend themselves. This is why America will never give up her 2nd amendment. Good talk.

The whole point is that Charlie Kirk’s words - about Muslims, migrants, trans kids, Mexicans, Jews, Black women, and more - should disgust everyone, separate to the brutal and unjust way in which he was murdered. You’re disgusted by AOC, but not Kirk?

The day before he was horrifically murdered, Charlie Kirk sent me a direct message on X. Unfortunately, before I could even respond, Charlie Kirk was killed — seemingly assassinated for the words he'd spoken. I've taken issue with many of those words — sometimes strongly — but never his right to speak them. Never his right to express those views and then go home to his family. That is a sacred American value. Kirk’s murder gives us all reason to come back to the table for dialogue. There is a rising tide of political violence that has already swept away his life and many others’ lives, from both the Left and the Right. Violence like this should compel people in both parties to turn down the heat, seek common ground and look for off-ramps from the vitriol — as Kirk was doing with me, the day before he died. We can choose to go the way of more violence, more outrage and more censorship — if we want to. But if we choose censorship and civil war, we cannot blame that choice on Charlie Kirk! From his last 24 hours, I have the proof that he wanted to go a very different way.

A bunch of Democrats voted AGAINST a resolution to honor Charlie Kirk and condemn political violence. Remember that when one of them says it's a "both sides" issue.

A- freakin-men. The people on both sides with the loudest voices all seem to genuinely believe “My side always has pure intentions, your side is full of nothing but bad actors”. What a horrible place to be as a country. I have no idea where we go from here.

Well this blew up. Lots of bonehead “well hire American” responses. I’ll make it really simple: there aren’t enough US doctors. There are 28k US med school graduates each year. There are 41k first year residency spots. We need international docs to fill that 13k difference.

This will be absolutely devastating in the medical field. ~30% residents are international medical graduates & ~10k of 43k residency spots are filled by docs with H1-B visas. Previously the h-1B fee was <$5,000. No hospital will pay a $100k fee for a $55k resident salary.

@lisa_liberal It’s probably less about being “allowed” to say something and more about some companies not wanting the kind of people who would celebrate someone’s murder on their payroll.

Let me get this straight. Charlie Kirk was allowed to say whatever racist, misogynistic, anti-LGBTQ BS he wanted, because of free speech, but we aren’t allowed to say anything negative about Kirk for fear of retribution from Republicans, because we aren’t allowed free speech.
