@GMIgorSmirnov Play tactically, play on your instinct, don't overthink that exchange sacrifice, it's better to lose in style than a slow, solid, long painful loss.

Round 7 of the Prague Open. Black just played Qxf3, and White resigned. Only it should've been Black that resigned. Can you see why?

@PeterAttiaMD @MagnusCarlsen Wait, I don't know about you but you're a national-level tic-tac-toe player? Is that sarcasm, or are you serious because tic tac toe can be solved by game theory... You just need to play 3 moves accurately

.@MagnusCarlsen happy to have won this auction, given the great cause and the great story behind the jeans. I know you were *just* in Austin, but if you ever swing by again I would love to host you on my podcast, The Drive, for a deep dive (and a crazy idea I have). Huge fan!

The lovely couple Anish Giri and Sopiko Guramishvili are together in a chess tournament after quite some time! We saw them together at the opening ceremony of the Prague Masters 2025. Also with them was Danny, their oldest son, who was watching the entire ceremony unfold with great interest! Anish Giri will be looking to make a mark in the 7th edition of Prague Masters. He is surely the most experienced player in the field when it comes to the number of super tournaments played and it will be exciting to see how he fares against the young guns like Pragg, Aravindh, Vincent, Ediz Gurel and others! @drmehmetismail Does his strategy set comprise of all opening or just some proportion against which the opponent in question has played bad? Increased weight to worse performing openings... But assigning prob strategically would not be public randomisation.

Apparently, Magnus Carlsen randomizes his opening choice by rolling the dice. From a game-theoretical perspective, the "Opening Game" certainly has a mixed-strategy equilibrium rather than a pure-strategy equilibrium. A subtle point tho: uniform randomization may not be optimal

@turnabouttess I don't think this attracts people to watch chess. At least not the kind that chess needs.

@HPhobiaWatch More than these disgusting youtubers, I would question the people following them and paying them monthly. Without such viewership, where would they be? Who would be listening to their tasteless, crass commentary??

@ViralRightist @HPhobiaWatch Why do they have millions of followers anyway? Why always question these senseless, spoiled youtubers? Isn't it also the viewer's responsibility? Everyone clearly knew the character of these people but are now acting surprised.

@HPhobiaWatch No this is not overreaction. They have millions of followers, mostly India's youth. If this is their influence, they need to be called out, so that the youth knows what's right and what's wrong. Otherwise, the standards of "Humour" will keep deteriorating.
