Når man lige træder et skridt tilbage og tænker over det, er det egentlig ret vanvittigt, at vi har en tidligere selverklæret kommunist som seriøs overborgmesterkandidat i København.
Forestil dig, hvis en tidligere selverklæret nazist stillede op for et højrefløjsparti.
Vedkommende ville med rette ikke kunne få et ben til jorden. Men når det er en venstreekstremist, så er man ligeglad.
Hvorfor er det socialt acceptabelt at bekende sig til kommunismen, mens vi alle gudskelov er enige om at fx nazisme skal fordømmes?

I Malmø har man afvist at huse den internationale jødiske filmfestival JIFF af “sikkerhedsmæssige årsager.”
Jeg mener, at København bør række hånden ud og tilbyde at afvikle festivalen. Heldigvis tegner der sig en gryende enighed blandt borgerlige politikere i København.
For det er afgørende for København som åben og mangfoldig storby, at det jødiske mindretal kan føle sig trygge og bidrage kulturelt til byen – sådan som de har gjort i århundreder.
Men det kræver også, at politikere på den røde fløj forstår, at frihed og tryghed ikke er noget, man kan tage for givet. Vi har en forpligtelse til at sikre, at jøder kan leve frit på linje med alle andre københavnere.
En jødisk filmfestival i København med opbakning og ordentlig sikkerhed vil være et godt sted at starte.

After two years of unimaginable loss and suffering for Israeli families and the people of Gaza, we should all be encouraged and relieved that an end to the conflict is within sight; that those hostages still being held will be reunited with their families; and that vital aid can start reaching those inside Gaza whose lives have been shattered. More than that, though, it now falls on Israelis and Palestinians, with the support of the U.S. and the entire world community, to begin the hard task of rebuilding Gaza – and to commit to a process that, by recognizing the common humanity and basic rights of both peoples, can achieve a lasting peace.
