Exactly one year ago I bought a Japanese Stormfront Charizard at a card show for $1,000. I thought it was very cheap and had A LOT of room to run. So same day I grabbed one on eBay for $1,000. They currently sit at ~$6,200 each. And I believe they will continue to go higher.

Everyone laughs at loot boxes, gacha streams, “mystery pulls,” Whatnot auctions etc. until they realize it’s literally gambling repackaged for a generation that grew up online. Same dopamine loop, same addiction mechanics, just with influencer hype and “community” slapped on top.
