@alexinexxx Great choice, but I still prefer @OmarchyLinux, it just feels more snappy and easier to navigate once you get the keybindings down.

@_Felipe I've never had problems with managing memory in C++. If it passed unit tests with sanitizer, it's bulletproof. Problems come from devs, who don't really understand what they do, don't write tests, and there's no one around capable of reviewing their work.

Iโ€™ve done 8 years of C++. I like C++ and get annoyed by Rust a lot. But we simply canโ€™t deny that memory safety is a productivity booster. Zig is much fun and an improvement over C and C++, but youโ€™re still in charge of memory-safety and canโ€™t offload it to the compiler.
Jarred Sumner@jarredsumner

why: I am so tired of worrying about & spending lots of time fixing memory leaks and crashes and stability issues. it would be so nice if the language provided more powerful tools for preventing these things.

Ok so, 3 things: 1. Memory usage just increased, pretty sure I messed something up with one of the latest changes, looks like a great night of coding ahead๐Ÿ˜… 2. Now the reproducing song's cover is displayed in the dock as the app icon 3. Thinking about starting a community for those who want to follow or discuss the project. Only if thereโ€™s real interest, though. Suggestions for the best platform? Say a name, whatever it is a forum or a chat or idk.. i think you sent the post without finishing your sentence, let me help you once more; > "and still using more ram than windows that i heavily customized or that i use people who put effort to heavily customize for less resource usage as im aware that windows as an os out of the box doesn't use less than a gigabyte of ram. also im very stupid" now it should be complete.

@LinuDev @MMatt14 Iโ€™m a power user and I use vanilla Gnome without extensions. Realistically you cannot use a lot of extensions because those tend to break randomly with version upgrades. IMO Gnome is more pleasant to eyes because it is less โ€œbusyโ€. The proper comparison is vanilla versus vanilla.

> "my windows 11 using only 700mb *which I heavily customized to debloat the memory consumption, removed a lot of extra resources that makes my desktop feel more polished" here i fixed it for you. also here is my arch linux + gnome with no customization with gnome 50. it is out of the box. not customized.
