@LeahTCodes That’s why I always carry a couple of field notes notebooks with me. Gotta get them ideas on paper when they hit 😉

You do realize that you still need refineries and oil tankers, even for your EV, please tell me you know enough about mechanics to understand that. You still have gears and bearings that all require grease and oil. You might think you’re more eco friendly but you really aren’t. And the manufacturers of the vehicles and batteries are just as bad if not worse on the environment.
English

@techsolvd @nettermike Yeah I don’t know what to tell you other than my electric went down $300/mo and I don’t buy gas and I got a tax credit so it worked out perfectly and I don’t need refineries or tanker ships across the globe
English

Comedian Jerry Seinfeld is taking a jab at electric cars, calling them a “big, stupid virtue signal."
“I’m not interested in electric cars at all," Seinfeld reportedly said in an interview. "Anybody else wants to do it, that’s fine. I think it’s a big, stupid virtue signal. ‘Look at me. I’m saving the planet, yeah.’ What about the lithium? It’s all BS."

Do the math, the ROI is closer to 50 years with about 30-40 just to break even. The life expectancy of the panels are 20-25 years. That means you’re buying new panels before you break even. That’s not including all the other equipment and installation. If you’re in SoCal, your break even might be better because you have more sun days. If you’re up north, it’s worse because you’re under snow over half the year. In the south east US, it’s in between because we typically get a lot of overcast/rain days. You’re trying to apply this “amazing technology” to the entire world and that doesn’t work. Same thing for EV, that works in SoCal where the weather is basically sun year round and temperatures are warm. But the efficiency of an EV in northern winter is complete garbage and the infrastructure in the rest of the world can’t handle them. I’ll stick to my perfectly capable and reliable internal combustion engine vehicles, thank you.
English

@stevenharms @nettermike Ummm, but they don’t actually charge straight from your roof “for free” the cost of that system is prohibitive to the majority AND the ROI is nonexistent. The same is true for the car itself. And there is plenty of maintenance for it.
English

@nettermike I don’t get it - I have electric cars, they charge straight from my roof for free, and I never change oil. What’s to hate?

@HelmerVA At this point, most gun owners assume that anyone saying "common sense" in a discussion of gun control is lying about their intentions and pushing towards total confiscation.
You aren't doing anything to make us doubt this.
English

Unfortunately, all I have to say about the new @FrameworkPuter is negative. Criticisms below:
1. I do not have one.
2. I cannot get one for a very long time.
3. My kids have said this is an embarrassment to the family.
English

@Anaya_sharma876 There isn’t one. That’s why my daily driver is @OmarchyLinux

@LeahTCodes @choir241 She’s worked hard while you’ve been gone playing at all those conferences. She deserves some belly rubs 😂
English

@ProfCaryCooper That's not going to fool anybody. You should have come up with a more convincing set of lies.
English

@stevenharms @morganlinton Not really, CAD doesn’t like that and you’re killing half your CAD workspace in the process. Best CAD setup is 2-3 27-32 inch 4K monitors
English

@techsolvd @morganlinton Maybe but these can still be done middle split on a 27"
English

@stevenharms @morganlinton Unless you’re doing an activity where you need it split, like drafting a deed plot
English

@morganlinton Single monitor is the way - splitting focus across screens is usually productivity fantasy

@typecraft_dev @logoscoded @OmarchyLinux Some people are just…not you though, you’re awesome like @dhh and @ThePrimeagen
Just started watching you @rails tutorial too

I don't understand. @OmarchyLinux is enabling all kinds of people to try out interesting linux tooling and ideas. Bringing more and more people into linux. Who cares if its arch, debian, whatever. It's fun, and its growing the broader linux community.
Comments like this hurt. Not me, they hurt the community. This kind of gatekeeping scares people away from linux. Please don't do this.
I love linux, I love the community. Let's grow it. Not gatekeep it. Please.
linuxfactz@linuxfactz
@typecraft_dev What the hell is this. This is not arch. Do not fucking say that you use arch ever again you larping fuck
