@Lion_Zenge @AheadAB_ @oluwaseun_alaka Yup, I don't think if they had money for rent they'd be using their umbrella setups. That's one reason why credit system must be made available for SMEs

@AheadAB_ @T___Banky @oluwaseun_alaka Those shops as cheap as you would think it is aren’t assessible to many traders. I had a research on market redevelopment in Lagos and one insight is that once markets are redeveloped, original shop owners mostly cannot afford it. It is common across every redeveloped market.

Some of these I believe Lagos state government have started already, they built one at Mushin and another one just completed at Ogombo, and I believe they could do even more in every local government and I also believe the government would want to make it accessible to the populace that truly needs it like the market women you just mentioned. It'll be a win-win situation for the people, the environment, and also the traders.

Spirituality as the only explanation is a way of absolving responsibility and blaming something external. This not the first time they’ll do that. The effrontery is not spiritual, it comes from doing the same thing over and over again.

@Lion_Zenge My bro, it’s always amusing to see. Jumia has been around for over a decade, with some of the best engineers on staff. Someone looked at the e-commerce app and said, I’ll build this shit in two weeks, and some people agreed with him. AI no let people sabi their level again.

People see the frontend of a system powered by a complex backend and think to themselves, “I’ll build this shit in two weeks.” Such arrogance and ego fueled by the illusion of AI.

@Midatlblog @Lamataonline @olukolly This is a good idea. However, in metropolitan regions it is usually a hard idea to implement. Why? They reassign buses to different routes based on demand, and that defeats the purpose of the idea.

I have a beautiful suggestion for LAMATA @Lamataonline @olukolly since we color code our trains according to routes, what do you think about color coding the BRT buses as well according to routes? For example, BRT can run from Agbado to Oyingbo and be colored red, then from Okoko to Marina and be colored blue, then from Marina to Lekki FTZ to be green BRT… that way each corridor can have its own bus colors, as well as the other routes accordingly. It will add to city aesthetics. By the way, whats the update on the 2,000 EV buses donated by the House of Reps member? @olukolly We need to reform the BRT sector and get it to work effectively… there’s so much money to be made in it, trust me.👏 📷: Frame 1-3: idea on how the BRT can be color fitted to complement rail corridors.

THERE IS NO WAY the first time you're committing extrajudicial killing, as a Nigerian Police Officer - is on tape, in public. To do so, is backed by a level of confidence - only sanctioned backyard killings has given you. It is definitely your operational standard.

UPDATE ON THE MURDER OF ABDULSAMAD JAMIU -29 April 2026 Following the visit of a military delegation to the family, a military police investigative unit has since been deployed to the scene. The investigators conducted formal interrogations of all key witnesses, including the sister of the deceased, the parents, neighbours, and members of the community vigilante group. It was during these interrogations that a deeply disturbing detail emerged. The vigilante members revealed that after they had been directed to mop up Abdulsamad’s blood, they were further instructed by the soldiers to bury the remnants of his shattered skull and brain matter in the backyard of the family’s home. The vigilantes led the investigative team to the exact location in the backyard where these remains were buried. We wish to be clear about what this means: the remains of our son’s head were buried in the ground of his own home like refuse, without the knowledge or consent of his family. The investigative team has given the family their assurance that the investigation will be thorough and that it will continue until answers and justice are delivered. The family acknowledges this commitment and will be watching its fulfilment closely. The family of Abdulsamad Jamiu wishes to use this moment to express profound and heartfelt gratitude to every Nigerian who has taken up this cause and refused to let it be buried alongside our son. To the media houses who gave our grief a voice and our truth a platform — thank you. To community and political leaders who have stood with us and spoken up — thank you. To the friends of Abdulsamad, who have kept his name alive and reminded the world that he was loved — thank you. And to every individual who shared, commented, prayed, and demanded accountability on our behalf — you have not done so in vain. The family remains resolute. The investigation is ongoing. Justice for Abdulsamad is non-negotiable. — The Family of Abdulsamad Jamiu #JusticeForAbdulsamad #JusticeForSamad

UPDATE ON THE MURDER OF ABDULSAMAD JAMIU This morning, 27 April 2026, representatives from HQ Nigerian Army, led by Brigadier S. O. Buhari, visited the family to offer condolences and to inspect the scene of the incident. During the visit, they stated that they were unaware the house was fenced and that the room where the shooting occurred was located downstairs. This contradicts their earlier claim suggesting the death resulted from a “stray bullet.” The delegation expressed condolences and assured the family that the officers involved would be investigated and held accountable. The family has formally demanded the retraction of the initial statement and a public apology for what they consider an insult to the memory of their son. Although there was a promise to delete the statement, the family made it clear that trust has already been undermined, especially given that some military personnel had visited the scene the yesterday before issuing the statement in question. We reiterate our demand that those responsible for the killing of Abdulsalam Jamiu be brought to justice. This was not an accident. He was in his home; military men entered the premises, approached his room, and shot him through the door. Twice. This was not a mistake.

EFFURUN SHOOTING: POLICE ASSURE JUSTICE AS OFFICER FACES DISCIPLINARY ACTION The Nigeria Police Force condemns the fatal shooting of a suspect, Mene Ogidi, which occurred on 26th April 2026 in Effurun, Delta State. Preliminary reports indicate that operatives attached to the Effurun Area Command responded to credible information from Benin Motor Park along the Warri–Sapele Expressway regarding a suspect apprehended by members of a transport union while attempting to waybill a parcel containing a Beretta pistol with four rounds of ammunition. While efforts were being made to take the suspect into lawful custody, the team leader, ASP Nuhu Usman, discharged his firearm in clear violation of extant regulations, resulting in the death of the suspect. The leadership of the Nigeria Police Force has directed the immediate transfer of the officer and his team to Force Headquarters, Abuja, where they would face the Force Disciplinary Committee for summary disciplinary measures and prosecution. The Inspector-General of Police extends his condolences to the family of the deceased and assures them that justice will be served in accordance with the law. He further urges members of the public to remain calm and law-abiding as the disciplinary and legal processes take their course. The Nigeria Police Force maintains a zero-tolerance stance on extra-judicial actions, abuse of authority, and any conduct that undermines public trust. @PoliceNG That was a first degree murder, & all of his team mates are definitely in on it. They deserve quality jail time. This doesn’t look like the first rodeo judging from what I see. In fact, the whole police leadership in the state should be summoned.

@Joe_brendan_ …unnecessary and ineffective. Brasilia in Brazil has a very similar characteristics to Abuja and I see them face the same problem as regards the metro system. Truth is these cities were built for the elites who are car dependent, while putting the metro system far away.

@Joe_brendan_ Many new cities face this problem and it all starts with the city design. These cities are usually decided by the ruling class, designed to fit elitist structure ideologies. In turn, they end up not incorporating the masses into the design, so infrastructures become…a thread🧵

this is Abuja Abuja has a metro that no one uses. Waste of money! And I keep asking, why does Abuja need trains? Abuja has one of the best road networks and plans in the world. It does not need trains. Just build all the damn roads to last mile

I love you Onyi 💜 and I love your idea. But childbirth, I think, is not the greatest sacrifice in marriage. Neither is it the biggest offer that can be brought to the table. The biggest sacrifice is "leaving one's father and mother and cleaving to one's spouse." I say this because, if a woman is unable to give birth to a child, does that mean she can't offer anything? The biggest sacrifice is saying "yes, I will marry you," "yes, I'll do life with you." ❤️

Ultimately, Childbirth is the greatest sacrifice in a marriage.. the biggest offer that can be "brought to the table "

@_aaadedapo Most people in the front end of operations do not see the backend endeavours of the executive class. I have worked at the executive level of a company and I must say if you are not actually a heavy worker, you may not survive the stress. It is less technical but more work
