Myterna om ryska revolutionen 1917 Oktoberkuppen 1917 var inte en äkta folklig revolution utan en organiserad statskupp av bolsjevikerna.  Februarirevolutionen hade redan störtat tsaren och skapat en provisorisk regering. Det som hände i oktober var istället en minoritetsövertagande av makten i Petrograd som sedan spreds med våld över landet. Bolsjevikerna utgjorde aldrig någon majoritet bland befolkningen. De lyckades vinna inflytande i några viktiga sovjeter under kaoset hösten 1917, men i det enda fria valet till den konstituerande församlingen fick de bara runt 24 procent av rösterna. De socialistrevolutionära var dubbelt så stora. Terrorn började inte heller med Stalin. Redan i december 1917 grundade Lenin Chekan, den hemliga polisen. Den röda terrorn proklamerades officiellt 1918 med massavrättningar, gisslantagningar och systematiskt våld mot politiska motståndare. Makten gick aldrig till arbetarna eller sovjeterna. Sloganen, ”All makt åt sovjeterna”, var ren propaganda. Så snart bolsjevikerna tagit kontroll centraliserades all makt till partiet och dess centralkommitté. Sovjeterna blev snabbt ett tomt skal. Bönderna gav aldrig bolsjevikerna något äkta och hållbart stöd. Det tillfälliga stödet kom genom löften om jord som bönderna redan själva höll på att ta. När bolsjevikerna införde sin "War Communism" (den ekonomiska politik som bolsjevikerna drev mellan 1918 och 1921) och började rekvirera spannmål med våld vände bönderna sig emot dem, vilket ledde till omfattande uppror som krossades brutalt. Repressionen var ingen avvikelse från den ursprungliga idén. Lenin byggde redan från början upp en enpartistat, hemlig polis, censur och koncentrationsläger. Stalin förde bara systemet vidare och radikaliserade det ytterligare. NEP som infördes 1921 (10:e kongressen) var ett tydligt erkännande av föregående års misslyckade politik som hade lett till ekonomisk kollaps, massvält och uppror som i Kronstadt 1921. Lenin tvingades införa marknadsekonomiska inslag och kallade det själv ett steg tillbaka(!). Det var ett litet, fanatiskt parti som tog makten i arbetarnas och böndernas namn och sedan byggde de ett av historiens mest repressiva samhällssystem.

Robert Nozick destroyed the intellectual case for the welfare state in a single book. In 1974, he published Anarchy, State, and Utopia - one of the most powerful and philosophically rigorous defences of libertarianism ever written. It was a direct, devastating response to John Rawls’ A Theory of Justice, which had just provided the left with moral justification for massive redistribution. Nozick argued that the only morally legitimate state is the minimal “night-watchman” state - limited exclusively to protecting individuals from force, fraud, and theft. Anything larger violates people’s fundamental rights. He begins by showing why he believes pure anarchy is unsustainable: competing private protection agencies would naturally evolve into a single dominant agency that functions as a minimal state. He then proves, with merciless logic, why no more expansive state can ever be justified. Using his “entitlement theory” of justice, Nozick demonstrates that a distribution is just if it arises from voluntary exchanges and just initial acquisitions. Any attempt to impose a “patterned” outcome (like equality or Rawlsian fairness) requires constant coercive interference with peaceful, voluntary behaviour. His famous Wilt Chamberlain example makes the point crystal clear: if people freely pay to watch Chamberlain play basketball, the resulting inequality cannot be unjust - yet forcing “redistribution” to fix it clearly violates individual liberty. Nearly fifty years later, Anarchy, State, and Utopia remains the sharpest challenge to every form of political paternalism. Individuals are not raw material for social engineers - they are ends in themselves.

Medborgaren får som vanligt betala kalaset genom höga skatter medan de verkligt innovativa och små aktörerna ofta får kämpa mot både byråkrati och subventionerad konkurrens. Kort sagt: det är ingen guldmedalj för folket. Det är ett korporativt cocktailkalas mellan makt och storfinans där den vanliga svensken får vara med och betala – som vanligt.

This was November 2025 - and modern civilisation was crashing the party of an ancient rainforest in order to save the planet. It was a profound environmental insult already shrouded in the past. Instead of global outrage, its an enduring scar. The road access debacle carved a 13km wound directly into the bloodstream of the protected Belém Environmental Protection Area. A causeway of lifeless red dirt was driven through dense green jungle, as mud-caked excavators sputtered under the banner of summit preparation. This was progress on the march. But this isn’t just 'any' jungle - and it was a real highway only for a moment. Now the 'Avenue of Liberty' is a tawdry access road for the drug cartels, illegal loggers, and opportunistic cattle ranchers. Cash crops like soybean and oil palms are also eating the jungle alive. The legacy of this crime are the fragmented habitats and a massive localised spike in fresh roadkill (in a country losing 475 million wild animals yearly to roads). The global elite descended on Belém, lectured the world on the environment for a few days, then flew away. The bureaucratic class got their photo-ops, but the ecosystem was left permanently changed, and powerless local indigenous peoples were left to rue their shrinking homelands. Now, no one even bothers to remember. It's just another example of the biodiversity nuisance getting in the way of progress.
