As many of us know, many judges in Alberta are appointed by Ottawa and do not serve the interests of Albertans. However, this decision does not stop the current collection of signatures by Stay Free Alberta and signatures can continue to be collected until May 2nd. The Independence movement planned for this. There are still many ways forward. One option is to have a third party validate the signatures and present the results to the Premier to demonstrate the democratic mandate for Albertans to hold a referendum.
