In case you missed it, I was very pleased to be back in #Exeter to share another announcement that the Municipality of @SouthHuron has received $2,765,109 from our government through the #ConnectingLinks program to further upgrades along the Main Street/Hwy #4. It was an distinct honour for Team @ONRuralAffairs to host Mr. Dara Calleary, Ireland’s Minister for Rural Community Development and the Gaeltacht of Ireland ☘️yesterday at Queen’s Park (albeit I had to join virtually) to exchange rural community development knowledge, challenges and best practices. Minister Calleary was joined by Honourable John Concannon, Ambassador of Ireland and Claire Fitzgibbon, Ireland’s Consul General. We shared many synergies starting with a dedicated ministry for rural development and a ‘whole of government approach’ to supporting rural communities!

As some areas of #Huron #Bruce continue to experience flooding - I encourage everyone to respect road closures & advice shared by local authorities and local municipalities. While we have genuine compassion for those affected, I hope everyone avoids compromised roads & areas until further notice that it is safe. Thank you to the local municipalities, emergency response crews, fire departments & county crews and agencies for your dedication to safety at this time.

I am extremely disappointed that the court has refused to put a stop to Al-Quds Day, which has long been a venue for antisemitism, hatred, intimidation and the glorification of terrorism. While the judge cited Canada's Charter of Rights and Freedoms, when we talk about rights we need to be clear that every person has the right to safety and security. We need to be clear that no one in Canada has the right to incite violence or free licence to intimidate and hate. The judge also said that Toronto Police Service do not need an injunction to preserve the peace. That's unbelievable! If that's the case, I fully expect that the police will immediately intervene at the first sign of hate, violence or glorification of terrorist organizations. I won't stop working to put an end to the hatred and division that runs too rampant on Canada's streets. I won't stop working to protect the greatest province in the greatest country in the world.

I am proud to stand with Premier Ford - there is no place for hate in Ontario, Canada. We have a duty to protect our true north, strong and free - from hate, intimidation and violence.
