In my time as MPP, I've been an advocate for those living with cystic fibrosis and their families. I'm proud that our government has made life-saving CF therapies like Trikafta available. Yesterday, during Cystic Fibrosis Canada's advocacy day at Queen's Park, I was pleased to meet with President and CEO Kelly Grover; Lily Davidson, a resident of Leeds & Grenville living with CF; and Director of Government and Community Relations Kim Steele. Thank you for taking the time to discuss with me how we can work together to improve affordable access to CF treatment. #CFAwarenessMonth

This morning, in my Member's Statement at Queen's Park, I had the opportunity to celebrate the life of Ralph McMullen. His larger-than-life presence will be dearly missed by so many.

Honoured to be on hand as Bill 114 received Royal Assent from Her Honour Lieutenant Governor of Ontario Edith Dumont. This means HST relief on new homes is now law, providing the opportunity for Ontario families to save up to $130,000 on the purchase of a new home valued up to $1M. It’s great news for residents on Leeds and Grenville who want to realize the dream of home ownership. As well as for local tradespeople, businesses connected to the home-building sector, and our entire economy. Learn more: budget.ontario.ca/2026/hst.html

Joined Premier Ford, Municipal Affairs and Housing Minister Rob Flack, Associate Minister of Municipal Affairs and Housing Graydon Smith, and Parliamentary Assistant Laura Smith today to welcome the Eastern Ontario Wardens' Caucus to Queen’s Park for their advocacy day. Excellent discussions about growing our communities across Eastern Ontario with the group that included United Counties of Leeds and Grenville Warden Corinna Smith-Gatcke.

Great to stop in at The Mayfield Retirement Residence to wish Reg McIlvenna a happy 100th birthday. Reg’s quick wit and hasn’t changed a bit from the day I first met him. Keep making everyone around you smile, Reg, and thank you for your service to Canada.

A very special day in Prescott today! It was an honour to join His Excellency Alfredo Martínez Serrano, Spain’s Ambassador to Canada, at Little Barcelona as he presented owners Lorna and Marc with the prestigious Restaurants From Spain certification on behalf of the Government of Spain. They’re one of just 10 restaurants in all of Canada to receive this recognition! We’re so fortunate to have this little gem of a restaurant serving delicious and authentic Spanish cuisine in our community. Congratulations! 👏 🇪🇸 🇨🇦

Our community is reeling following yesterday’s tragedy that resulted in the loss of three lives. My thoughts are with the families, friends, first responders, and everyone affected. As a community, let’s all support each other and hold those impacted in our hearts while respecting their privacy during this incredibly difficult time.

Our government is taking action to reduce wait times for police record checks so people can access jobs and volunteer opportunities faster. These changes would allow police services to process vulnerable sector checks for applicants outside their jurisdiction, helping to reduce backlogs during periods of high demand and improving efficiency while maintaining strong safeguards to protect vulnerable people. It's #McHappyDay where a portion of proceeds from all food and drinks sold at McDonald's Canada restaurants goes to support Ronald McDonald House. Had a chance to visit the hard working McDonald's teams at the locations on Parkedale Avenue in Brockville and County Road 43 in Kemptville to thank them for taking part in this fantastic fundraiser. 🍔🍟

Thanks to Ontario's Minister of Sport Neil Lumsden for taking the time this morning to meet with Mayor Nancy Peckford, North Grenville, and Tana Torch, the municipality's Director of Parks, Recreation and Culture. We had a great discussion, updating Minister Lumsden on the community's efforts to build a sports dome to support athletes of all ages and capitalize on sports tourism opportunities.

I had the honour to recognize the heroic actions of Brockville Police Constable Tyler Harrison in a Member's Statement at Queen's Park today. Const. Harrison's bravery is a powerful example of what our first responders do every day – they run toward danger to keep us safe. @BPS_News

People deserve to feel safe when they take transit to work, school or home. That is why our government is proposing new measures that would give special constables the authority to stop people from using illegal drugs on transit and in transit areas and issue tickets or make arrests if they refuse to comply. More great news for expanded access to primary care providers in Leeds & Grenville! With John Jordan, Parliamentary Assistant to Minister of Health Sylvia Jones, and healthcare partners in Municipality of North Grenville to announce our government is investing $2.6 million to establish the Kemptville Nurse Practitioner Led Clinic and Primary Care Hub. This funding through our government's Primary Care Action Plan will connect 6,400 patients to a team-based provider. Thank you to the partners who submitted this proposal that I'm so proud to deliver on. Combined with this morning's announcement in Brockville, we're connecting over 11,000 patients to a primary care provider - making this a truly landmark day for local healthcare delivery!
