Just received a DM from a good friend / follower who is a carer dropping into elderly clients in the North Inner City. They are saying they are walking into freezing homes, having to leave their coats on as they bathe clients. One women surrounds herself with four hot water bottles to keep warm as she is terrified to turn the heating on. This is the country we are living in, this is how we treat the people who built the country. Something has to change. The Government is out of touch or indifferent to what is going on in the country. My 3 year old twin boys had to miss a really vital hospital appointment in Cork today because of the fuel protests. Rang the hospital to be told they will be put back on the waiting list. Who knows how long til we get an appointment again. It's a disgrace! #fuelprotest

I have written to the Taoiseach calling for the immediate resignation of the Chairperson of Bord Bia, Larry Murrin. He was appointed by the government and his position is utterly untenable after revelations that his company has been importing Brazilian beef into Ireland. The job of the chair of Bord Bia is to promote Irish food around the world. His actions undermine that and damage Irish farming and the agri food sector.
