American teachers should earn a livable, competitive teacher salary. This is why we support the #AmericanTeacherAct and you should too! This act will raise minimum teacher salaries to $60,000. @teachersalary @RepWilson @RepBowman

First semester at NC State is a wrap! Shout out to these amazing future teachers! They stretched me in ways I didn't think possible, and I am grateful for the space WE created over the past 16 weeks. I can't wait to see how they change the world one classroom at a time. #ED204

@LiteraryJessica @CCMMSRedwolves @NCStateCED It's so awesome that you were able to teach the students something that they can take with them for the rest of their lives. Sometimes it may sound kind of insignificant, but controlled breathing helps so much with my own personal anxiety. Great job!! Keep in touch, homie!

After observing a 7th grade physical ed/health class @CCMMSRedwolves this semester my classmates and I got hands on experience creating a lesson plan and teaching the students how to use breathing exercises to manage stress, decrease anxiety, and feel calm... (1/4) #ED204SLP

@LiteraryJessica @CCMMSRedwolves @NCStateCED Great point about the tendency to feel self-conscious as an educator. I once heard that teaching can be thought of as doing stand-up to a roomful of people that aren't laughing! It was great planning and sharing this experience with you!

@LiteraryJessica @CCMMSRedwolves @NCStateCED Such a wonderful experience collaborating with you this semester! I think we truly made a great lesson with important life skills that these students need more of in school.

@MOllio_teach @CCMMSRedwolves @NCSU_CEDTandD I love the way you made it like a game, having students guess which type of figurative language was being used by their peers. Also the students are teaching each other! And you used circular seating to increase engagement and participation. Great job!

@chemwithmissg This is such an import and valuable skill! I love the focus on reflection and the many different ways to handle situations. Not only did you incorporate Social and Emotional Learning, but you taught them about the concept itself to show how it's a lifelong practice. Great job!

Students were split in small groups and we worked through real life scenarios. Students were asked “what would you do” “what is the ‘textbook’ correct thing to do?” “How can we change what we would do to keep us out of trouble while still handling the situation?”

Before thanksgiving, my ED 204 PLC got to teach a lesson on conflict management within the Restore & Reflect room at @CCMMSRedwolves! We worked on real life scenarios and how to handle conflict with peers in productive ways. #ED204SLP @NCStateCED

@Ms_MaryKateWise This is such a simple, effective, and fun way to teach design! I'm curious how you guided the students in their research? Were there any challenges in going from idea to execution that came up? Great job!

Just some of the paper airplanes that were created in last Tuesday’s class! I learned that hands-on activities are a great way to get students engaged and enthusiastic about the skills you are teaching!

Last Tuesday, the students @CCMMSRedwolves worked on creating unique paper airplanes. The lesson was designed to teach students about the design process and see it in effect. #ED204SLP @NCStateCED

@NCSUbailey @NCStateCED @CCMMSRedwolves This is such a great example of the NC State motto "think and do!" What careers were the students most interested in? How did you communicate what these careers look like in action? Great job!

@misterlaserinko @CCMMSRedwolves Such a great topic to expand perspective and foster critical thinking for students! I totally agree that it was challenging to juggle teaching while trying to ensure each student was engaged. I remember you telling me you had each table take turns sharing, which is a great idea!

@CCMMSRedwolves One thing that really stood out to me during our presentation was how difficult it was to balance speaking, keeping tabs on all the students, and how to maximize participation. It felt like a balancing act that will take practice to master.

This semester my partner and I had the opportunity to present a workshop on culture and point of view to a 7th grade ELA class. Our focus was on how our environments influence the way we are, the stories we tell, and the values we hold. #ED204SLP @CCMMSRedwolves

I learned it can be a challenge to get students to be vulnerable and play without feeling self-conscious, but if YOU are vulnerable, playful, supportive + persistent, students will be more engaged and willing to try new things. Thanks for the opportunity @CCMMSRedwolves (4/4)

I used websites like sampulator.com and soundation.com/templates/beats to help students compose their own music for meditation on their laptops. My partners guided students in drawing/coloring mandalas and pairing breathing with meditative movement... (3/4)
