I finally downloaded Mario Kart 64: Amped Up to my Summercart 64 and now I’m playing on my Analogue 3D. This is pretty legit! Played a SMW themed course and the Secret Slide from Mario 64 thus far. Fantastic job @Litronom. Looking forward to playing more.

@yngwiewho1 Maybe your TV is set to the zoom option or something? Sorry, that is not really something I can assist you with. Just use the aspect ratio your TV has

@Litronom I put amped up on my EverDrive and have been trying to get it looking good on my N64, but it looks comically thin. Generic 4:3 makes it look thin when going through the retrotink, although the text looks perfect. 16:9 looks a little better, but still not right. Any tips

@SPJWoww It doesn't affect the game running on real hardware, so either version is fine. But in general, always use the latest version available.

@Litronom Ok if someone makes me a game cartridge copy; will it hurt to put this version on it to avoid the possibility of the issue 3.20 had? Because if they use that one and I have problems then it will be a waste. My question is is it best to use the 3.21 to make sure theres no issues

@Litronom I'm using RetroArch. Here's a screenshot with my settings. The core is Mupen64Plus-Next. I don't know what the graphics plugin is, but I didn't change anything from when I downloaded and installed RetroArch, aside from getting the core (and mapping controls). Hope this helps!

@Litronom Okay, i noticed sometging strange. I switched only Mario to the Christmas costume an all Portraits were shown simply black. Then i canceled the Grand Prix, switched all charakters to the Christmas themed models and now marios picture is shown, but ONLY that from Mario :D

@DynoYosher Thanks for the report. It seems like different system have different requirements when it comes to framebuffer emulation. I'll see if I can work out a fix after the festivitites. In order to reproduce it, what emulator are you playing on? (Core/graphics plugin, etc.)

@Litronom The first time I played, the portraits were still the old 2D portraits, but the next GP I played they were updated to the 3D ones. And each time I change costumes for a character, the next GP, it will be blank again for that character until I quit and go back in again.

@LeShokunin @SonicDcer I actually tried to a few months back with the recomp mod template, but hit a road block. Translating my custom symbols and assembly hooks to what the recomp expects was a huge effort. I can happily provide my source code and everything, if anyone wants to tackle this hurdle.

@DynoYosher Some courses have multiple, some have none. The unlock screen shows the colors in order of appearance throughout the courses. And yes, no music notes on classic courses! Hope that clears it up for you.

@Litronom Sorry for the ping, but I would like to confirm something. In Mario Kart Amped Up, is there a music note in every non-classic course? I've been looking for well over an hour on Tsumuri Beach, even going into frog mode to see if that would help, but I just don't see it!

@Jolpengammler From my research I did on the topic, I haven't found a Japanese Bamu with chocolate frosting or layering. They might exist, but every product image I came across displayed the pastry without. Though, as a German myself, I agree.
