@PatrickMBoston @IndpRestaurants Thanks Patrick for beating the RRF drum. This recent COVID spike is, predictably, slamming restaurants that are already vulnerable due to the seasonal slow-down. 2 to 3 months of plummeting sales will be hard to survive for many.

@IndpRestaurants I'm sure most Boston restaurants that are still open are experiencing the same thing: a massive drop-off in sales, especially indoor dining. For those of us who don't focus on take-out, these are scary times.

@BostonPotter Hey Jeremy, this is indeed David. I'll be in the Berkshires for a good part of the next few weeks, so if it's not a big deal to drop pieces off at Tres, that would be great. Many thanks!

@LittleDipperJP Is this David tweeting? Do you want me to drop some pieces at Tres gatos or would you prefer stopping by my JP studio?

@tiffanifaison I wish all of us feeling stretched thin trying keeping our restaurants alive had time/ energy to get together once in a while, just to share stories, frustrations, lessons learned, and maybe a laugh or two. Feels like we're all down our individual rabbit holes. Stay well!

@kcbaskin @BostonGlobe The fact that my 8 year old, Dylan, was excited to join in all the baking projects I threw at him, including: sourdough bread, beer bread, crumpets, cheddar cheese crackers, and all manner of cakes and cookies. Very therapeutic!

HEY! It’s almost our one-year anniversary of total meltdown. For @bostonglobe parenting this week, as we crawl toward the end, I wanna know: What’s one thing that got you through? Can be ANYTHING, from a TV show to an app to a certain piece of wisdom to a sandwich. TALK TO ME.

@kcbaskin @BostonGlobe Building rockets is a great diversion, and (if you're lucky), not as messy as baking. That said, my 7 yr old is growing up in the industry, so he got indoctrinated in housemade pasta early. Recommend keeping that Kitchen-Aid with attachments out!

I'm finishing up a @BostonGlobe story about the first week of parenting during quarantine. What went well? What are you going to do differently next week? Lessons learned? Do tell.

@PadmaLakshmi I just spoke with a Boston Globe reporter covering the federal response. Really important for us all to keep up pressure on city, state and federal officials for rapid and meaningful aid.

People in the restaurant industry don’t have the luxury of working from home. There are hundreds of thousands of employees out of work in NYC alone because of the Coronavirus. Call your reps and demand that we’re part of the federal stimulus package: 202-224-3121

@AlexRSaenz True hospitality becomes increasingly important and precious as overall civility and kindness decline, and our isolating technology undermines face to face community.

I can’t stress this enough: Hospitality. The way you get ready for service & open the door to the first guests, your attitude through the busiest times, the way you refill glasses, the way you talk to guests, say g’night & everything in between. It matters & it’s remembered
