A total of 96 shifts were filled by ACPs in the last 12 months. These were cover for FY2 doctor shifts. Happy days

@wesstreeting @jtworr We need honesty. The NHS is broken and it’s breaking the people desperate to keep it functioning. It’s harming patients. What are you doing to change this?

Last night @jtworr sat and peddled the idea that our NHS is broken beyond repair. His solution? A system that would leave patients paying through the nose for even the most basic appointments. My solution? Rebuilding the NHS, so that it's always there for us when we need it.

@parapism @hlnewey I think the vast majority of us agree with this. Those who don’t, often have a desire to appear to be something they aren’t. It’s rather sad they feel the need to distance themselves from their base profession.

@hlnewey absolutely you should have your (registered) profession in your job title. why is this even up for discussion.

@Lizardwizarde @hlnewey RCEM made a foolish mistake when they suggested any level of equivalence. They have backtracked on this but the damage has been done.

@hlnewey No. We all know working with ACPs theyre not equivalent to ST3s. They never will be. They might be able to do a few similar tasks but no theyre not ST3 level. RCEM fucked things up with this tiered nonsense.

@BelTel It’s ok. The Gvmt has allocated £35 per household to assist. 🙄

@drnic1 @Dr_Done_ Not recognised independent practice. I don’t doubt it was on the agenda. Leng rather scuppered it, for now.

There will be many unnecessary deaths in Alaska because of this. This is what they have planned globally, btw. They used to incentivise real doctors to go to remote places with good compensation - now they send half trained pseudodoctors.

@drokane I can see how that happens. I’ve watched the rash develop and spread in a matter of minutes. One minute the same as very other febrile, miserable wee toot. The next profoundly septic.

@NursingTimes Article behind a paywall but I agree 100%. “Nurse” should be front and centre.

@Anisocyte @sunshine222blue @anaesthetic_spr @lascapigliata8 I agree. I was referred to as the consultant before I CCTd. I was at pains to immediately correct this. I can think of no reason for professionals failing to disclose their professional role to a patient. Other than wanting pts to believe they are something they are not.

@sunshine222blue @anaesthetic_spr @lascapigliata8 If you’re not explicitly telling the patient what your role and discipline is (ie nurse, and nursing) then yes, you are misleading the patient when you know there’s a high chance they won’t deduce you’re a nurse. If I was a patient like that, I’d be furious. 1/

@sunshine222blue @anaesthetic_spr @lascapigliata8 She deliberately omits her professional role knowing that patients will ask to see a Dr. This is deception. With every interaction our name and role should be provided. Pts should be under no illusions as to who is providing their care.
