No one can ever imagine what a victim/survivor goes through each day existing in an environment with a perpetrator of abuse. From the moment you wake up you are anxious, you are thinking how do I safety plan today. How do I keep my kids safe. How do I pacify this abuser. You are a soldier living in a war zone. You know there will be a consequence when you decide to leave. Leaving shouldn’t be lethal!! The system must do more to protect women and girls.

Is it really useful to wait for stability etc to put this kind of fair pay model into place? Anyone who wants to undercut artists in this system to save a few quid is going to do it anyway. Anyone who wants to use a model ethically is literally unable to atm.

Thought for the day As far as I can tell - There is nothing stopping an artist collective from officially hosting open source AI image generators and adopting a 'pay for the prompted artist' model.

We can't roll back time on existing models, they're already downloaded to tens of thousands of machines. Even if future training removes artists from the dataset, anyone with a modicum of technical ability can take one of these models and finetune it on an artists work.
