340 miles to protect fellow first responders! Last weekend, three Littleton Police Officers participated in the TOUR de Shield616 bike ride, helping raise money for rifle-rated bulletproof vests for first responders across Colorado. The ride stretched from Colorado Springs to Fort Collins and back, a true test of endurance, commitment, and heart. We are incredibly proud of our officers and the genuine passion they have for serving and protecting others, both on and off duty. On Tuesday, May 19, at approximately 3:30 p.m., Littleton Police responded to a report of a possible attempted kidnapping involving a white van in the 6300 block of Hill Street. Officers immediately canvased the area and collected video and additional evidence. At this time, no corroborating evidence has been found to confirm that an attempted kidnapping occurred. Happy 10th Birthday to K9 Mako! 🎉🐾 K9 Mako is a dual‑purpose patrol and detection dog serving with the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office. Since joining the unit in 2017, Mako has assisted in numerous high‑risk operations, tracks, and searches, providing critical support to deputies and helping keep our community safe. Known for his drive, focus, and steady temperament, Mako has been instrumental in locating fleeing suspects, finding discarded evidence, and performing narcotics detection during patrol operations. Off duty, he’s a loyal partner, who loves time with his handler, Sgt. Van Noordt, and never turns down a good game of tug. Double digits, good boy! 🎂

Successful Drug Take Back Day! The Littleton Police Department (LPD) proudly participated in its biannual Drug Take Back Day on Saturday, April 25, successfully collecting over 300 pounds of unused and expired prescription medication from the community. This initiative plays a vital role in preventing medication misuse, reducing the risk of accidental poisoning, and protecting the environment. As a reminder, community members do not have to wait for the next event to dispose of medications. @Denver_Fire @PoliceEnglewood Update: The fire is under control. Crews are beginning overhaul, and the SMFR Hazmat Team is working on mitigation. Santa Fe Drive will remain closed for an extended period. The SMFR Fire Marshal’s Office and @PoliceEnglewood are investigating the cause of the fire.

@Denver_Fire Update: South Santa Fe Drive is closed in both directions just north of West Belleview Avenue. Firefighters are working to contain the fire and protect nearby exposures. A large smoke plume is visible from the scene. Thank you to @PoliceEnglewood for your assistance on scene.
