My great grandparents on both sides LOST EVERYTHING in the depression. Yet my grandparents started out with nothing - the few shoes & clothes they had were second hand, jobs were scarce, housing unaffordable & college a luxury. It was far worse than today. Got a car? more than 2 pairs of pants? You own your own phone? Been in a soup kitchen lately or dumpster dove for dinner? Buck up buttercup.
